    摘要: A gland packing includes a gland packing body made of expanded graphite. The gland packing body has a cylindrical shape, and has a plurality of layers formed in a radial direction. The gland packing body has first and second surfaces, which are both end surfaces in an axial direction. The gland packing further includes an annular first sheet portion made of expanded graphite, an annular second sheet portion made of expanded graphite, an annular first porous member, and an annular second porous member. The first sheet portion is arranged on the first surface. The second sheet portion is arranged on the second surface. The first porous member is arranged on the first sheet portion. The second porous member is arranged on the second sheet portion.

    摘要: A packing ring is disclosed for sealingly engaging a movable rod member within a stuffing box having an internal cavity. In an embodiment, the packing ring includes a carrier and a sealing ring mounted to the carrier. The sealing ring is configured to sealingly engage with an outer surface of the rod when the rod is disposed within the internal cavity. The carrier includes a radially outer surface that is configured to sealingly engage with an internal surface of the stuffing box. In addition, the carrier includes a radially inner surface that is proximate to an outer surface of the rod when the rod extends through the stuffing box. Further, the carrier includes a plurality of lubrication grooves each groove extending from the radially outer surface to the radially inner surface and configured to convey a lubricant flow between the radially outer surface and the radially inner surface.

    摘要: A subterranean wellbore assembly includes an outer cylindrical wall and an inner cylindrical wall cooperatively defining an annular space. A seal assembly is disposed within the annular space. The seal assembly includes chevron seals. Each chevron seal includes a central portion and two axially and radially extending wing portions. Chevron seals may be of polymeric PEEK material or of nickel based material. Other seal assemblies may be arranged in the annular space in place of the seal assembly.

    摘要: In a reciprocating sealing device sealing two members by mounting a packing to a mounting groove in one of two relatively reciprocating members, and bringing the packing into contact with the other member, the packing is provided with an annular base part, a stationary side lip, and a sliding side lip. A back ring having a lower hardness than the packing is interposed between the annular base part and a groove side surface of the mounting groove. The back ring forms a space region in relation to the other member. The annular base part is provided with a shape that the annular base part does not protrude out of an extension of a peripheral surface of the sliding side lip in a free state by forming a cross sectional shape of a heel part into a circular arc shape or a taper shape.

    摘要: A ring like seal assembly for a wellhead assembly that seals between a pair of coaxial tubulars. The seal assembly includes a spring member for exerting an axial force on the seal. The spring member projects from an end of the seal assembly substantially parallel to the axis of the seal assembly and is compressed when installing the seal assembly between the tubulars. Compressing the spring member maintains an axial force on the seal assembly to keep the seal assembly radially deformed so that it can maintain sealing contact with both coaxial tubulars.
