    摘要: A heat exchanger is disclosed having a tube bundle, intended to internally receive a first fluid, and a shell with an inlet opening at a first end. The shell allows an internal circulation of a second fluid and is arranged to surround the tube bundle. An inner casing to the shell circumscribes the bundle within a heat exchange chamber so that between the casing and the shell an annular region extending in a continuous way along the length of the bundle is defined. The annular region is in fluid communication with the exchange chamber through an outflow opening obtained at a second end of the inner casing where the latter has a rear wall facing an opening of the shell to outlet the second fluid from the heat exchanger. The inlet and outlet openings are in fluid communication by means of the annular region.

    摘要: A heat exchanger, including: a columnar honeycomb structure having cells partitioned by partition walls composed of ceramics, each cell penetrating from a first end to a second end to form a flow path for a first fluid; an inner tubular member fitted to an outer peripheral surface of the honeycomb structure to circumferentially cover that surface; a spacer directly and circumferentially covering an outer peripheral surface of the inner tubular member as well as indirectly and circumferentially covering the outer peripheral surface of the honeycomb structure; and an outer tubular member directly and circumferentially covering the spacer; wherein the spacer has a three-dimensional structure that allows flow of a second fluid therein and suppresses movement of bubbles in the second fluid; and wherein at least one opening part between the inner tubular member and the outer tubular member forms a gate of the spacer for the second fluid.

The partitions have openings for the pipe elements. The heat exchanger is also provided with liquid, gas and exhaust fumes inlet and outlet stub pipes. The outer jacket is conically shape with its diameter increasing upwards. An upper sieve wall (2), is essentially flat as viewed from the side, while an upper partition (5) situated below the wall, is shaped as a cone with its vertex pointing down. The upper partition (5) has a central opening (8) in its central region and an outer diameter corresponding to a diameter of the outer jacket (9).

Peripheral flanges (112) are located about tube slots (86) in the headers and a header reinforcing plate (114) is bonded to the header plate (86) oppositely of the tank (94). Stiffening beads in the form of flanges (120) are located on the header reinforcing plate (114) between openings (118) therein through which the tubes (84) pass and extend away from the header plate (86).

The heat exchanger (50) provides essentially constant outlet temperatures for the first and second fluids (52,54) for all of the flow rates within the operating spectrum of the heat exchanger (50) without the use of an active control system. The heat exchanger (50) is of particular use in the fuel processing system (36) of proton exchange membrane type fuel cell systems.
