摘要： A display unit of a speedometer meter for an automobile, wherein a desired car speed is determined and an actual car speed is measured and signals corresponding thereto are applied to a comparing circuit and bar graph decoders. The comparing circuit compares the amplitude of the signals corresponding to desired car speed and actual car speed, and the bar graph decoders, after decoding the signals into a format compatible with a bar graph display, transmits the signals to an EX-OR circuit and an OR circuit. A selector circuit controlled by the output of a comparing circuit selects either the output of the EX-OR circuit or that of the OR circuit for driving plural segments of a bar graph display which accordingly displays both desired car speed and actual car speed either by driving selected display signals corresponding thereto or by driving display segments corresponding to a maximum value thereof and by inhibiting the driving of at least one display segment common to both desired car speed and actual car speed.

摘要： A digital processing and comparison indicating apparatus is responsive to an input signal having a value proportional to the quantity to be indicated for displaying a quantity of electrical information in an analog form of decimal notation. A microprocessor compares the value of the input signal with a first plurality of reference values and generates decade enable signals for each one of the first reference values which are less than or equal to the input signal value. The microprocessor also compares the input signal value with a second plurality of reference values and generates units enable signals for each one of the second reference values which are less than or equal to the difference between the input signal value and the value of the largest one of the first reference values for which first enable signals have been generated. The decade and units enable signals drive a display which typically includes a plurality of light emitting diodes for indicating the quantity of the electrical information. This display can have the decades indicating LEDs positioned in a semi-circle or circle and the units indicating LEDs positioned in a straight line for improved readability.

Accordingly, the rise and fall of the position of the activated indicator element indicates the level of the electrical signal. An arrangement is also disclosed for providing signal limit indication comprising means for comparing the digital signal corresponding to the variable electrical signal with preset digital limit signals which means drives a limit indicator element whenever the generated digital signal is outside the preset values.

摘要： A volt/frequency meter includes LED arrays which provide bar-graph style meter displays of the instantaneous voltage and the frequency of a variable electric analog signal. Each LED in the voltage array corresponds to a predetermined voltage range and each LED in the frequency array corresponds to a predetermined frequency range. The meter is switchable among three different voltage scales and three different frequency scales. A separate LED flashes momentarily in response to the input signal crossing a user-determined limit set point which is adjusted through a knob on the front panel. The limit set point controls the operation of the frequency display such that the displayed frequency is the rate at which the analog signal crosses the limit set point.
