Abstract: A method of determining a vehicle position and a vehicle velocity, including receiving a camera image sequence based on a camera borne by a vehicle and determining a camera pose based on the camera image sequence. The method includes determining a global position system location based on a global position system receiver borne by the vehicle, determining an inertial movement signal based on an inertial movement unit borne by the vehicle and receiving a wheel encoder signal from a wheel of the vehicle. The method additionally includes determining at least one of the vehicle positions and the vehicle velocity based on at least two of the camera pose, the global position system location, the inertial movement signal and the wheel encoder signal in temporal synchronization.

Abstract: A vehicular radar sensing system includes a radar sensor disposed at a vehicle and having a printed circuit board (PCB). The radar sensor includes an antenna structure having a transmitting port for a transmitter of the radar sensor and a receiving port for a receiver of the radar sensor. The antenna structure includes a wall structure that extends from a first side of the antenna structure toward a first side of the PCB to at least partially define a transmitting area and a receiving area to isolate radio frequency signals at the transmitting area from radio frequency signals at the receiving area. The housing may include a sensor input surface through which signals may pass. The system may also include a motor configured to rotate the internal sensor components relative to a mount as well as the mount to which the motor is fixed. The system may also include a wiper including a wiper blade. The wiper may be attached to the mount such that rotating the housing causes the wiper to contact the sensor input surface in order to clean the sensor.

Abstract: A plurality of on-road vehicles moving along streets of a city, while utilizing onboard cameras for autonomous driving functions, are bound to capture, over time, random images of various city objects such as structures and street signs. Images of a certain city object may be captured by many of the vehicles at various times while passing by that object, thereby resulting in a corpus of imagery data containing various random images and other representations of that certain object. Per each of at least some of the city objects appearing more than once in the corpus of imagery data, appearances are detected and linked, and then analyzed to uncover behaviors associated with that city object, thereby eventually, over time, revealing various city dynamics associated with many city objects.

Abstract: A method is provided for determining a mobility status of a target object located in an environment of a sensor configured to monitor a surrounding environment of a vehicle. According to the method, a detection angle of the target object is determined with respect to the sensor based on data acquired by the sensor, and an ideal beam vector for a stationary object is predicted based on the detection angle. The ideal beam vector and a measured beam vector obtained from the data acquired by the sensor are normalized, and a correlation of the normalized ideal beam vector and the normalized measured beam vector is determined. A score is determined based on the correlation of the normalized ideal and measured beam vectors and indicates whether the target object is stationary or moving.
