    摘要: Processes and systems are described that can produce images including both three dimensional holographic images and two dimensional variable data, which can provide personalized security features in a document. A photosensitive film can be pressed against a first reflective optical device. A laser beam can be directed through a selected first area of the photosensitive film onto the first reflective optical device to produce a three dimensional holographic image in the photosensitive film. A previously masked second area of the photosensitive film can be pressed against a second reflective optical device. The laser beam can project an image constructed by a spatial light modulator and can be directed through the second area of the photosensitive film onto the second reflective optical device to produce a two dimensional image in the second area. During the process, the web tension of the photosensitive film is controlled.

    摘要: Device, method, and system for recording diffractive high resolution text, pictorial, and/or other graphical information is provided which is particularly suited to recording information that would be difficult to reproduce by typical counterfeiting methods. The information recorded may be used to authenticate the recorded item, or indirectly, an item to which the recording is attached. Such items may include legal, financial and commercial instruments, credit cards, and packaging for such items as software, art, and other items where forgery of the item may be a concern. In one embodiment of the invention light is selectively passed by a shutter, and a spatial filter then cleans the beam to remove undesirable frequency components. A liquid crystal display (LCD) dynamically receives a data stream from a computer where each of the displayed data values presents an optical characteristic (for example density, phase, or polarization) to the filtered beam and causes diffraction into a plurality of diffracted beams, the character of which is dependent on the data displayed. A mask selectively passes only predetermined ones of the beams so that only frequency components that will generate the desired optical interference fringes are allowed to pass. Additional optical components receive the passed beams and redirect them to overlap at an output plane to form interference fringes. These interference fringes can have a very high spatial frequency so that extremely fine lines or small objects, including text and graphics, can be recorded.

    摘要: A scheme for producing computer generated holograms in which a motion vector of each object to be displayed is detected, objects are classified according to their motions, a hologram fringe pattern for each classified group of objects is calculated separately by image processing stored basic patterns, and a hologram to be displayed is produced by synthesizing all separately calculated hologram fringe patterns. In another aspect, a gaze point of the observer is determined, and a hologram to be displayed is produced by using high resolution hologram fringe patterns for objects located at the gaze point and low resolution hologram fringe patterns for regions other than the gaze point. In another aspect, a distance between each display target object and a hologram plane is obtained, a region of calculations for interference fringes due to each display target object is limited according to the obtained distance, interference fringes due to each display target object are separatedly calculated within the limited region of calculations, and a hologram to be displayed is produced by synthesizing separately calculated interference fringes due to all display target objects.
