Abstract:
A data recording apparatus is disclosed for recording production and product data output from at least one electronic device. A data collector device assigned to the electronic device records the production and product data and converts said data into transmission data to be transmitted, which are subsequently stored in a storage device. A configuration device connected between the data collector device and the storage device controls the storage of the transmission data.
Abstract:
A plastics processing machine, in particular injection molding machine or extruder, includes at least one component represented by a clamping unit, feed and metering apparatus, plasticizing unit, injection unit, or separate injection apparatus, and characterized by specific parameters for carrying out at least one working or process step. A control device is connected to the at least one component and configured to control the at least one component, with the component-specific parameters being useable in the control device for control of the component. Provided for the component is a separate memory device in which the component-specific parameters are stored and can be transmitted to the control device prior to or upon startup of operation of the component.
Abstract:
A system for demand-based functionalization of a motor control unit comprises a motor control unit, a first data store having a plurality of functional modules each configured to perform one or more functions of the motor control unit and an access device configured to access the first data store and to select at least one of the plurality of functional modules and to load at least one of the plurality of functional modules into the motor control unit. The selection is based on a demand and the selective loading results in a flexibly customizable functionality of the motor control unit.
Abstract:
An apparatus and system for permitting dual-mode configuration of an appliance control board preferably in conjunction with an external electronic programming device or by means internal to the appliance. Preferably, a set of selection switches are provided in an interior space of the appliance that are used to select desired operating parameters. By changing the setting of the switches, the operator may configure the appliance for many specific modes of operation. In addition, the appliance can be electronically reconfigured by use of a hand held data probe.
Abstract:
A method for transmitting data among various memory units of one or more position measuring devices, specific data pertaining to the position measuring device being stored in the memory units. Data are transmitted via a data transmission line, from a first memory unit into a second memory unit, so that once the data are transmitted, the identical, specific data are at least partially contained in both memory units.
Abstract:
A method of and an apparatus for configuring elevator controls permit external signal emitters and signal receivers to be connected to freely selectable connection points of an input/output module. For each of the occupied connection points on the input/output module at least one programmable connection configuration module can be assigned which delivers to the control processor via a bus system the requisite information concerning the type and function of the signal emitter or signal receiver connected to the corresponding connection point.
Abstract:
A method and a device for controlling operating sequences in a vehicle using at least one control unit having at least one non-volatile memory element, control being performed as a function of the respective vehicle version and/or control unit version, and the respective functions are selected during function selection by defining an identifier according to the version used, at least one predefinable data record and/or program code in the memory element corresponding to the selected functions, and the data record and/or program code being selected from a plurality of data records and/or program codes. The plurality of data records and/or program codes is generated during a version selection, the identifier containing configuration parameters, and the configuration parameters being used for determining the data record and/or the program code, the respective identifier, i.e. the configuration parameters being used for the selection of the version and the selection of the function.

Abstract:
An externally configurable soft starter system comprises a motor controller including solid state switches for controlling application of power to a motor. A control circuit controls operation of the solid state switches. The control circuit comprises a programmed processor for commanding operation of the solid state switches and a memory connected to the programmed processor storing parameters relating to operation of the solid state switches. An interface circuit is operatively connected to the programmed processor. An external device includes a memory for storing parameters relating to operation of the solid state switches and an interface for communication with the motor controller. A configuration program is operatively implemented in the programmed processor and the external configuration device for transferring a configuration database file between the controller memory and the external device memory. The configuration database file comprises a plurality of the stored parameters relating to operation of the solid state switches.
Abstract:
A printer includes a first housing and a second housing. The first housing has a driver circuit board mounting an EEPROM storing control information regarding a mechanical module. The second housing is provided with a control circuit board storing a program for controlling the printer. In the printer, when the housings are assembled, the control information is available on the program, the control circuit board controls the mechanical module based on the program. Thus, in this printer, even when a component of the mechanical module has been replaced with a new one, the control circuit board can control the mechanical module smoothly based on the control information after replacement because the control information of the mechanical module is stored on in the EEPROM.
