摘要: Composite cards formed in accordance with the invention include a security layer comprising a hologram or diffraction grating formed at or in the center, or core layer of the card. The hologram may be formed by embossing a designated area of the core layer with a diffraction pattern and depositing a thin layer of metal on the embossed layer. Additional layers may be selectively and symmetrically attached to the top and bottom surfaces of the core layer. A laser may be used to remove selected portions of the metal formed on the embossed layer, at selected stages of forming the card, to impart a selected pattern or information to the holographic region. The cards may be “lasered’ when the cards being processed are attached to, and part of, a large sheet of material, or after the sheets are die-cut into cards.

摘要: A method and an apparatus for generating an information code is provided. In a generation apparatus, after data to be interpreted and data of an image to be displayed are acquired, a code figure that is provided with an image display region is generated and displayed on a display unit. After the code figure is displayed on the display unit in this way, when information designating an arrangement content of the image display region is inputted, an information code is generated. Specifically, an information code is generated in a form in which the image display region is newly arranged based on the arrangement content designated by the input, and a specification pattern region and a region to be interpreted are provided in positions other than that of the image display region. The information code generated in this way is displayed on the display unit.

摘要: Information is recorded in quick response codes. A hologram is made from quick response codes and provides three dimensions of information in a two-dimensional hologram. The holograms are used for recording large amounts of information in two dimensions. Multiple quick response codes containing copious information are created using different light wave frequencies in different quick response encoders. The multiple quick response codes are combined in a two-dimensional hologram that is used on labeling. The hologram is read by a hologram reader. Each quick response frequency layer is separated from the hologram. The quick response code is extracted from each layer. A quick response reader provides the information that has been recorded.

摘要: An optical reader module includes a first illumination light source that emits reproducing illumination light to an image-capture target containing a hologram in which information reproduced in a predetermined angle area when illuminated from a predetermined angle is recorded, thereby reproducing the information recorded in the hologram; an image-capturing device that captures an image of the information reproduced from the hologram; and a first light-projecting unit that projects first-optical-guide-forming light on the image-capture target. A first optical guide projected on the image-capture target takes a predetermined shape when the emission angle of the reproducing illumination light to the hologram is equal to the predetermined angle. An observer of the image-capture target recognizes misalignment between the emission angle of the reproducing illumination light to the hologram and the predetermined angle, based on distortion of the first optical guide projected on the image-capture target from the predetermined shape.

The cards may be “lasered” when the cards being processed are attached to, and part of, a large sheet of material, whereby the “lasering” of all the cards on the sheet can be done at the same time and relatively inexpensively. Alternatively, each card may be individually “lasered” to produce desired alpha numeric information, bar codes information or a graphic image, after the sheets are die-cut into cards.
