Abstract: The invention relates to the technical field of intelligent construction and maintenance, and relates to a non-contact visual monitoring system and method for a flexible protective structure against rockfall disasters; it comprises a hardware system and a data analysis system, and the hardware system uses a multipoint distributed high-resolution high-speed camera to capture dynamic image sequences of a protective structure under the rockfall impact in a non-contact mode; the data analysis system comprises an impact deformation state full-field tracking module and a multipoint impact large deformation extraction module, and the impact deformation state full-field tracking module captures spatio-temporal changes of impact deformation of the protective system by adopting a full-field optical flow method, constructs a two-dimensional velocity amplitude distribution diagram and performs full-field spatio-temporal tracking of large deformation of the system.

Abstract: A method of generating a training dataset suitable for training machine learning algorithms to estimate the motion of objects, and for training a machine learning algorithm to perform motion estimation. A plurality of pairs of synthetic images are generated from obtained objects and backgrounds, each pair have a first frame and a second frame. The first frame includes a selection of objects in first positions and first orientations superimposed on a selected background, and the second frame includes the selection of objects in second positions and second orientations superimposed on the selected background. Also provided are processing systems configured to carry out these methods.

In one aspect, a method comprises: at each of a plurality of iterations: selecting a parent neural network architecture from a set of neural network architectures; training a neural network having the parent neural network architecture to perform the video processing neural network task, comprising determining trained values of connection weight parameters of the parent neural network architecture; generating a new neural network architecture based at least in part on the trained values of the connection weight parameters of the parent neural network architecture; and adding the new neural network architecture to the set of neural network architectures.

Abstract: A system for generating a 4D representation of a scene in motion given a sinogram collected from the scene while in motion. The system generates, based on scene parameters, an initial 3D representation of the scene indicating linear attenuation coefficients (LACs) of voxels of the scene. The system generates, based on motion parameters, a 4D motion field indicating motion of the scene. The system generates, based on the initial 3D representation and the 4D motion field, a 4D representation of the scene that is a sequence of 3D representations having LACs. The system generates a synthesized sinogram of the scene from the generated 4D representation. The system adjusts the scene parameters and the motion parameters based on differences between the collected sinogram and the synthesized sinogram. The processing is repeated until the differences satisfy a termination criterion.

Abstract: Provided is an in vivo movement tracking apparatus configured to track a portion of interest that moves in vivo, in which accuracy and robustness of tracking are improved. The apparatus is configured to determine an estimated position of ah organ in a biological image based on the past movement of the organ and search for contour points corresponding to a plurality of control points, respectively, representing a contour shape of the organ in a region corresponding to the estimated position, to thereby determine an estimated contour of the organ based on the contour points. The in vivo movement tracking apparatus is configured to determine a position of a portion of interest, which moves in association with the organ, based on the estimated contour with reference to previously acquired sample data regarding a positional relationship between a contour of the organ and the portion of interest.
