    摘要: A lift fan position lock mechanism is disclosed. In various embodiments, a position lock mechanism includes a ring structure having a first surface, the ring structure including one or more detents defined in the first surface of the ring structure. For each detent, the lock mechanism includes a stationary magnet coupled fixedly to the ring structure at a location adjacent to the detent. The lock mechanism further includes a rotating magnet assembly comprising a magnet of opposite magnetic polarity to at least one of the stationary magnets and a mechanical stop structure of a size and shape to fit into a corresponding detent and engage mechanically with a surface defining at least one extent of said corresponding detent when the rotating magnet assembly is in a locked position.

The matrix may have at least two hinges that may be or include, but are not limited to a living hinge, a mechanical hinge, or combinations thereof. The plurality of magnets may be disposed upon, within, or around the matrix, and at least one dimension of each magnet is at least 500 nm. In a non-limiting embodiment, at least one of the magnets may be an energizable magnet for increasing or decreasing the rebound force of the magnetic device when the magnetic device is energized.

    摘要: A magnet assembly for producing a varying magnetic field is provided wherein a plurality of permanent magnets are interposed between two members which are constructed of a ferromagnetic material. Each of the magnets is rotatable and has a north and south magnetic pole. Each of the magnets is disposed so that the north magnetic poles of the plurality of permanent magnets have a common magnetic orientation with respect to the first member. An orienter, such as, for example, a ring gear and pinion arrangement, is coupled to the magnets to change their common magnetic orientation with respect to the first member. The magnetic field projected by the assembly varies as a function of the orientation of the magnets.

    摘要: A switchable magnetic device includes a first magnet and a second magnet, both of which are essential cylindrical. Magnets are housed in a housing made from pole pieces. Pole pieces are ferromagnetic. Lower magnet is fixedly mounted in the housing whilst upper magnet can rotate within the housing. Upper magnet is formed with notches or grooves along its vertical side walls. These notches or grooves receive downwardly depending arms of bar. Bar is received inside a groove formed on boss. Boss is connected to a short bar that, in turn, is fixedly connected to a handle or lever. By this means, rotation of handle or lever causes rotation of second magnet. When the upper magnet is positioned such that its north pole substantially overlies the south pole of lower magnet and the south pole of upper magnet substantially overlies the north pole of lower magnet, the first and second magnets act as an internal active magnetic shunt and as a result the external magnetic field strength from the device is quite low. Rotating the upper magnet 180° about its axis of rotation brings the magnets into alignment such that the respective north and south poles of the upper magnet substantially overlie respective north and south poles of lower magnet. In this alignment, the external magnet field from the device is quite strong and the device can be affixed to surfaces or objects.

    摘要: A switchable magnetic device includes a first magnet (10) and a second magnet (11), both of which are essentially cylindrical. Rotating the upper magnet (11) 180null about its axis of rotation brings the magnets into alignment such that the respective north and south poles of the upper magnet (11) substantially overlie respective north and south poles of lower magnet (10). In this alignment, the external magnet field from the device is quite strong and the device can be affixed to surfaces or objects.
