    摘要: The disclosure provides an atomic object trap apparatus and a method of operating such. The atomic object trap apparatus comprises two or more radio frequency (RF) electrodes formed concentrically in a substantially elliptical shape; and three or more trapping and/or transport (TT) electrode sequences formed concentrically in a substantially elliptical shape. The two or more RF electrodes and the three or more TT electrode sequences define a substantially elliptically-shaped atomic object trap. At least one TT electrode sequence of the three or more TT electrode sequences is disposed concentrically between the two or more RF electrodes. Each RF electrode and TT electrode sequence is elliptically shaped such that each comprises two substantially parallel longitudinal regions and two arc-spanning beltway regions, the four regions forming a substantially elliptical shape. The method is directed to operating a quantum computing system comprising an example atomic object trap apparatus.

A mass spectrometer of the present invention includes: a reference waveform generator configured to generate a reference waveform signal having one type of a square wave and a sine wave, a waveform generator configured to generate a sync signal synchronized with the reference waveform signal; an RF module configured to generate an RF voltage signal from the reference waveform signal and apply the RF voltage signal to an RF electrode in the ion trap, an electron beam generator configured to control an operation of an ultraviolet (UV) diode for generating an electron beam injected into the ion trap according to an input control signal, and a control circuit configured to generate the control signal by using the square wave signal.

    摘要: A method of quantitative mass analysis of precursor species of different mass-to-charge (m/z) ratios from a single or the same ion injection event is disclosed. A plurality of precursor ion species having different respective m/z ratios are introduced into a mass spectrometer at the same time. The precursor ion species are isolated. A first subset of the isolated precursor ions having a first m/z ratio is fragmented and analyzed. A second subset of the isolated precursor ions having a second m/z ratio is fragmented and analyzed. A first mass spectrum is generated for the fragment ions of the first subset of precursor ions, and a second mass spectrum is generated for the fragment ions of the second subset of precursor ions.

The first and second isolation waveforms are effective to isolate one or more precursor ions from the ion population.

    摘要: An off-axis ion transport optical system (20) including a front-stage quadrupole ion guide (21), a rear-stage quadrupole ion guide (22), and an ion deflector (23) is disposed inside an intermediate vacuum chamber (2) in a stage next to an ionization chamber (1) maintained at an atmospheric pressure. Both of the quadrupole ion guides (21 and 22) have the same configuration as that of a conventional ion guide that transports ions while trapping the ions using a radio-frequency electric field. The ion deflector (23) includes a pair of parallel flat electrodes (231 and 232) and deflects ions using a direct-current electric field. By causing the deflected ions to reach the ion receiving range of the rear-stage quadrupole ion guide (22), it is possible to efficiency introduce ions while deflecting the ions. Meanwhile, the ions and neutral particles are separated from each other in the ion deflector (23). This provides an off-axis structure ion transport optical system that achieves a high ion transmission efficiency with a simple structure.
