One of the clamping plates includes a through pipe for gas to pass having a support surface for the seal and a threaded countersink for receiving a thread of the clamping base.

A metal-supported electrochemical element includes at least a metal substrate as a support, an electrode layer formed on/over the metal substrate, a buffer layer formed on the electrode layer, and an electrolyte layer formed on the buffer layer. The electrode layer is porous and the electrolyte layer is dense. The buffer layer has density higher than density of the electrode layer and lower than density of the electrolyte layer.

摘要: A process for forming a metal supported solid oxide fuel cell, the process comprising the steps of: a) applying a green anode layer including nickel oxide, copper oxide and a rare earth-doped ceria to a metal substrate; b) firing the green anode layer to form a composite including oxides of nickel, copper, and a rare earth-doped ceria; c) providing an electrolyte; and d) providing a cathode. Metal supported solid oxide fuel cells comprising an anode a cathode and an electrolyte, wherein the anode includes nickel, copper and a rare earth-doped ceria, fuel cell stacks and uses of these fuel cells.

摘要: The cell of the present invention includes an element portion and a first layer. The element portion includes a first electrode layer, a second electrode layer and a solid electrolyte layer. The first electrode layer serves as a tubular support body. The solid electrolyte layer is located between the first electrode layer and the second electrode layer. The solid electrolyte layer contains an oxide as a primary component and a first content of a rare earth element. The solid electrolyte layer has a thickness of 30 μm or less. The solid electrolyte layer has a region devoid of the second electrode layer. The first layer is located in the region. The first layer contains the oxide as a primary component and a second content of the rare earth element. The second content is different from the first content. The first layer has a higher strength than the solid electrolyte layer.

摘要: Materials, device and methods related to solid oxide fuel cells (SOFCs). In some embodiments, a solid oxide fuel cell (SOFC) can include an electrochemically active component having a multiphase ceramic with a stabilized metal oxide material and a magnetoplumbite-based material. The multiphase ceramic can be configured to provide enhanced fracture toughness for the electrochemically active component. The stabilized metal oxide material can include cerium oxide, and the electrochemically active component can include an anode. One or more of such SOFC can be configured as a power source device.

摘要: Tubular ceramic structures, e.g., anode components of tubular fuel cells, are manufactured by applying ceramic-forming composition to the external surface of the heat shrinkable polymeric tubular mandrel component of a rotating mandrel-spindle assembly, removing the spindle from the assembly after a predetermined thickness of tubular ceramic structure has been built up on the mandrel and thereafter heat shrinking the mandrel to cause the mandrel to separate from the tubular ceramic structure.
