摘要: A flow cell for reducing carbon dioxide may include a first chamber having a gold coated gas diffusion layer working electrode, a reference electrode, and a water-in-salt electrolyte comprising a super concentrated aqueous solution of lithium bis-(trifluoromethanesulfonyl)imide (LiTFSI). A second chamber adjacent the first chamber has a gold coated gas diffusion layer counter electrode and the water-in-salt electrolyte. The second chamber being separated from the first chamber by a proton exchange membrane. A reservoir coupled to each of the first and the second chambers with a pump contains a volume of the water-in-salt electrolyte and a head space.

摘要: A photoelectrode includes a double-layer homojunction of metal oxide semiconductor films without heteroatoms incorporated. The metal oxide semiconductor films are uniform in large size with rich oxygen vacancies. For BiVO4 films, Bi precursor can be electrodeposited on a substrate under atmospheric pressure and air atmosphere. The electrolytes for electrodeposition are acidic or alkaline with controllable pHs. The electrodeposited substrate is transferred to the muffle furnace for thermal evaporation with V precursor. Film thickness and size can be controlled by electrodeposition parameters. The BiVO4 double-layer homojunction is a safer and cheaper material in photo-driven devices, hydrogen producers, and solar cells, and is an economical replacement of costly III-V compounds, polymers, and valuable fossil. The BiVO4 double-layer homojunction can also be employed as photoelectrodes for H2 production via photoelectrochemical (PEC) water splitting under solar light, which can provide pivotal reactor materials for hydrogen producers and solar cells.

摘要: A process for the production of compressed hydrogen in a membrane reactor, said membrane reactor comprising a first zone separated by a proton conducting membrane from a second zone, said first zone having a gas inlet and a product outlet and said second zone having a product outlet; said process comprising; a. feeding a gas comprising ammonia to said first zone via said gas inlet, and allowing a reaction to take place in said first zone so that hydrogen and nitrogen are formed; b. applying an electric field over said proton conducting membrane; c. allowing hydrogen to dissociate into electrons and protons to selectivity pass through the proton conducting membrane to said second zone where protons and electrons recombine to form hydrogen in the second zone; wherein the membrane reactor comprises a pressure regulator at said product outlet from said second zone so that, in operation, the partial pressure of hydrogen in the second zone is higher than the partial pressure of hydrogen in the first zone.

摘要: A rapid method of synthesizing nanoflowers made of nanoflakes of nickel molybdate (NiMoO4) directly on nickel foam (NF) through an aerosol-assisted chemical vapor deposition (AACVD) process is disclosed. The nickel molybdate nanoflowers were grown on NF by varying the deposition time for 60 and 120 min at a fixed temperature of 480° C. and their efficiency was investigated as oxygen evolution reaction (OER) catalysts in 1 M KOH electrolyte. The NiMoO4 nanoflowers of NF obtained after 60 minutes of AACVD process showed OER performance with lowest overpotential of 320 mV to reach standard current density of 10 mA cm−2. The catalyst continuously performed the OER for 15 h, signifying its prominent stability under electrochemical conditions.
