    Abstract: A hybrid coupler for transmitting equally splitted amplitude and quadrature phase electro-magnetic waves, the hybrid coupler includes a dielectric substrate having a first main surface and a second main surface opposing the first main surface and a stripline placed at the first main surface of the dielectric substrate. The stripline comprising an input port and two output ports. The stripline is formed to provide an equally splitted amplitude and quadrature phase electro-magnetic wave at the output ports based on an input signal received at the input port. The hybrid coupler further includes a rectangular waveguide transition attached to both of the main surfaces of the substrate. The waveguide transition is configured to transmit the equally splitted amplitude and quadrature phase electro-magnetic wave to an antenna.

    Abstract: A coupled-line rat-race coupler includes four ports and four coupled-lines each composed of two metal lines. Two of the ports are respectively connected with the front ends of the two lines of the first coupled-line, and the other two ports are respectively connected with the front ends of the two lines of the second coupled-line. The two lines of the third coupled-line are short circuited and respectively connected with the back end of one line of the first coupled-line on one side and with the back end of one line of the second coupled-line on the other side. In the fourth coupled-line, one line is open at one end and short circuited at the other end with the other line, which is connected with one line of the first coupled-line and one line of the second coupled-line. The coupled-line rat-race coupler is characterized with smooth and stable output phase.

    Abstract: A 90-degree hybrid circuit includes a dielectric substrate, a first conductor that includes a conductor pattern formed on the dielectric substrate and electrically conducts between a first port and a second port, a second conductor that includes a conductor pattern formed on the dielectric substrate and electrically conducts between a third port and a fourth port, and a coupled line comprising a portion of the first conductor and a portion of the second conductor that face each other on front and back sides of the dielectric substrate. A first coupled line portion as the portion of the first conductor includes a coplanar line with first ground patterns formed to sandwich the first coupled line portion from both sides. A second coupled line portion as the portion of the second conductor includes a coplanar line with second ground patterns formed to sandwich the second coupled line portion from both sides.
