    摘要: In a method for line-of-sight-independent data transmission in a car-to-car or a car-to-infrastructure communication system, electromagnetic radiation having encoded data is transmitted from a transmitter located in a first vehicle or in a traffic infrastructure object, and a reflector system is provided for at least partially reflecting the transmitted electromagnetic radiation, wherein the reflector system is arranged so that the transmitted electromagnetic radiation arrives at a receiver located in a second vehicle or in the traffic infrastructure object. The reflected electromagnetic radiation having the encoded data can then be received by the receiver even when line-of-sight communication between the vehicles is impossible.

    摘要: The present invention discloses a parabolic dish-shaped electromagnetic wave front concentrator composed of a plurality of petal like identical interchangeable segments. The segment are comprised of an anterior concave layer made of a reflective material, an anterior skin made of ferrous material, an inner core made of a low density foam material and a posterior skin made of ferrous material covered by a protective coating such as zinc.The present invention further discloses a method of manufacturing the segments, by means of sandwich construction, of the parabolic dish-shaped electromagnetic wave front concentrator. The manufacturing method applies predetermined amount of uniformly distributed pressure by means of a vacuum membrane placed on the posterior surface of the segment which is positioned on an exact male mold surface. The components constituting the sandwich construction are mutually affixed by means of adhesive coats.

    摘要: An antenna reflector includes a central segment with a peripheral coupling portion and a plurality of peripheral segments, each provided with a reflector portion and a shield portion. A proximal portion of each shield portion is dimensioned to couple with the peripheral coupling portion, a reflector portion edge of each peripheral segment is dimensioned to couple with adjacent reflector portion edges and a shield portion edge of each peripheral segment is dimensioned to couple with adjacent shield portion edges. The central segment and the reflector portion of the peripheral segments together form a reflector dish. The shield portions together provide a circumferential shield extending from a periphery of the reflector dish along an antenna boresight of the reflector dish.

    摘要: A lightweight support structure for electromagnetic and light reflectors including at least two rigid compression rings of any diametrical ratio held vertically spaced and parallel by a plurality of rigid vertically extending peripheral columns and two or more flexible cable sets vertically spaced and parallel with the compression rings. Nodes or junctures on the cable sets are adapted to remain fixed in space with respect to the compression rings by a series of tangential and radial cables and thus support rigid vertical internal columns which in turn support the reflector. The internal rigid columns may progressively increase in height from a central hub to the outermost periphery of the compression rings for supporting a reflector dish of parabolic configuration.

In one instance a reflector is disposed above the planar antenna array and in another instance a lens element is disposed above the planar antenna array. The reflection or refraction of RF signals allows antenna coverage pattern to be extended in a horizontal direction parallel to the planar surface of the antenna array and beyond a coverage pattern that is typically not available, without such reflection or refraction of the RF signal.
