    摘要: Apparatus, methods, and computer-readable media for facilitating a programmable smart repeater with in-band control are disclosed herein. An example method for wireless communication at a repeater includes establishing a control link with a control node and receiving, via the control link, a configuration for the repeating unit component of the repeater to forward communication between a first wireless device and a second wireless device on an access link. The example method also includes transitioning an MT component of the repeater to an RRC inactive mode or an RRC idle mode for at least a period of time after receiving the configuration and forwarding the communication between the first wireless device and the second wireless device on the access link based on the configuration while the MT component of the repeater is in the RRC inactive mode or the RRC idle mode.

    摘要: On-board satellite switching is performed in three stages, an outer stage of switching on the up-link side for routing the received signals to either demodulators or frequency translators, a first inner stage of switching, preferably a baseband switch and processor, for routing and processing the outputs of the demodulators, a second inner stage of switching, e.g., a microwave switch matrix, for routing the outputs of the frequency translators, and an outer stage on the down-link side for assembling and routing the down-link spot beams. For a multiple hopping-beam system, the outer stages are microwave switch matrices, and for a hybrid scanning-hopping system the outer stages are beam forming matrices. A general purpose modified rearrangeable switch matrix is also disclosed.

    摘要: The present invention provides a processor for interfacing a TDMA burst modem (40), which transmits and receives bursts of information at high data rates in assigned time slots, and slow speed terminal processing equipment. The present processor comprises circuitry (50) capable of detecting frame or superframe markers in a received sequence and regenerating such markers, after initiation, at the normal interval for such markers despite false alarms or missed marker signals. Other circuitry (53, 57 and 52, 62) causes a memory (48, 56) to directly output a burst of information during an assigned time slot to the modem (40) and directly store received information from modem (40) during a predetermined interval which is designed to start before and end after the expected arrival of an assigned burst. Slower processing equipment is then used to find and process the burst in the stored information.

    摘要: A two-way satellite communications system includes an Earth station communicating with a plurality of remote terminals using a network access protocol that facilitates low power consumption by the terminals. The earth station generates forward link TDM packet data transmissions on one or more satellite channels, and detects, despreads and decodes multiple concurrent return link slotted CDMA packet transmissions on one or more satellite channels. It communicates through a wired connection with a packet processing center which ultimately both delivers return link packet data to end-customers and receives forward link packet data from end-customers. The remote terminals receive, process and act upon forward link TDM transmissions on one or more satellite channels, and generate slotted spread spectrum CDMA transmissions on the return link on one or more satellite channels. The remote terminals communicate with a local digital data source and/or sink, digitize one or more local analog sensor signals, enter into a sleep mode to minimize the terminal's power consumption, and access the satellite communications network in accordance with the system network access protocol.
