    摘要: Methods and apparatuses are provided for channel equalization in a communication system. The method includes initializing, using processing circuitry, filter coefficients of an adaptive decision feedback equalizer randomly in a predetermined search space. Further, the method includes updating, using the processing circuitry, the filter coefficients. The filter coefficients are updated using a least mean square recursion when the filter coefficients are stagnant. The filter coefficients are updated using a particle swarm optimization procedure when the filter coefficients are not stagnant. Further, the updating step is repeated until a predetermined stopping criteria is met. Further, the method includes, filtering, using the processing circuitry, a received signal using the filter coefficients.

    摘要: An OFDM system generates a channel estimate in the time domain for use in either a frequency domain equalizer or in a time domain equalizer. Preferably channel estimation is accomplished in the time domain using a locally generated reference signal. The channel estimator generates an initial estimate from a cross correlation between the time domain reference signal and an input signal input to the receiver and generates at least one successive channel estimate. Preferably the successive channel estimate is determined by vector addition (or subtraction) to the initial channel estimate. The at least one successive channel estimate reduces the minimum mean square error of the estimate with respect to a received signal.

    摘要: A method and apparatus is disclosed for determining a signal subspace in a communications system. A remote apparatus obtains signal streams from antenna elements or signal streams from antenna beams. Based on the obtained signal streams, the apparatus selects a signal subspace for a user, the signal sub-space having a dimension M. Based on the selected signal subspace, the apparatus transmits, via an interface to a central apparatus, M streams of post-fast-Fourier-transform data, the interface being capable of transmitting a different sub-space for different frequency bins.
