Abstract:
Techniques for call intent notification for establishing a call are described. According to one or more implementations, a user of a first user terminal attempts to establish a call with a second user terminal. Based on determining that the second user terminal and/or a user of the second user terminal is not available to answer the call, a call intent notification is sent to the second user terminal. According to one or more implementations, the call intent notification includes a number that enables the second user terminal to establish a call with the first user terminal.
Abstract:
Techniques to access messaging services for branch offices are described. In one embodiment, for example, an apparatus may include a network interface for a packet-switched network, a private branch exchange for a circuit-switched network, and a gateway to couple to the network interface and the private branch exchange. The gateway may be operative to establish a packet-switched call connection with the network interface and a circuit-switched call connection with the private branch exchange. The gateway may further include a call router to route a call request over a circuit-switched network with the private branch exchange on behalf of a call terminal to access messaging services from a data center with a messaging server when the call terminal and the network interface are unavailable. Other embodiments are described and claimed.
Abstract:
A system for optimizing communication between civilians and authorities. The system enables optimal routing of message delivery from civilians to different dispatchers. The system enables adaptive optimization of the delivery of such messages by continuously identifying data collected by an agent installed on a user device. The messages typically comprise one or more portions, such as data, call, multimedia, etc. The system further identifies the communication target to which the message is sent. The system then determines an optimal route for sending each of the portions of the message. According to an embodiment, the determination may further be made based on metadata associated with the location of the user device. Then, each portion of the message is sent to the communication target via the optimal route.
Abstract:
A mobile device identifies multiple, different networks available to a client resident on the mobile device, and sends multiple registration messages to an outbound proxy over the multiple, different networks via first, second and third communication interfaces. The mobile device determines whether access has been lost to a first network of the multiple different networks, and sends an invite message via the second communication interface, based on the determination, for an outbound call via a second network of the multiple, different networks for routing the outbound call via the second network.
Abstract:
Implementations relate to selection of networks for voice call transmission. In some implementations, a method includes determining a voice call for communication between a sending device initiating the voice call and a receiving device and determining one or more first characteristics of the voice call. The method selects, based on the first characteristics, one of a phone network and a data network to use to route data of the voice call from the sending device to an intermediary server on the data network. The method causes the data of the voice call to be sent to the intermediary server over the selected network. The data of the voice call is sent from the intermediary server to the receiving device on one of the phone network and the data network chosen by the intermediary server based on one or more second characteristics of the call.
Abstract:
A system, method, and computer readable medium for processing call in a call center platform are provided. A call center platform provides for customized delivery of calls to contact centers. The call center platform provides the ability to transfer calls in a manner that reduces carrier connection costs and intra-state costs. The call center platform provides alternative connectivity mechanisms, such as packet-switched, circuit-switched, and multiprotocol label switching connectivity, for a call center enterprise customer. An interactive call center service provider front end includes a media gateway adapted to receive circuit-switched and packet-switched customer calls and a self service platform. Customer calls may be directly connected with the call center front end and contact center via circuit switched connections, via VoIP connections, and may be connected utilizing intelligent call routing and central queue point mechanisms.
Abstract:
A method and arrangement is provided which allows a PC or other client device to be used to communicate with third parties through a mobile communication device when a user and the mobile communication device are not in the vicinity of one another. The arrangement allows the user to control operation of the mobile communication device over a WLAN so that the user can send or receive messages such as voice and text messages to a remote party from the client device through the mobile communication device over the WLAN and the mobile communication network employed by the mobile device.
Abstract:
A proxy server of an Internet protocol (IP) telephony system determines when a call setup message generated by a first of the IP telephony system's customers is directed to a second of the IP telephony system's customers. When that occurs, the call setup message is forwarded directly to a call cluster operated by the IP telephony system and that services the second customer. As a result, the call is handled internally by the IP telephony system, and there is no need to involve a second telephony system in conducting the requested call. The proxy server may also insert information into the call setup messaging to flag the call as an internal call between two customers of the IP telephony system.
Abstract:
A distributed call routing system and method are used to provide higher quality VoIP connections with flexible codec choices and simplified NAT and firewall traversal. An analog telephone adapter (ATA) communicates a call destination to a network information server (NIS), which provides multiple routes. The ATA uses this information and local and/or non-NIS information to initiate the call using the preferred routing.
Abstract:
A method and apparatus for handling a call using a wireless integrated access device that is compatible with Voice over ATM and Voice over DSL on a network side while being compatible with VoIP on a customer premise side are disclosed. For example, the present method employs a wireless integrated access device for receiving an incoming call from a broadband access network that uses dedicated connection switching. In turn, the method establishes a wireless connection for the incoming call with at least one VoIP enabled endpoint device located at a customer premise.
