Abstract:
An image processing apparatus includes a reading control unit, an extractor, an acquirer, an operation acceptance unit, and a storage control unit. The reading control unit reads a printed material containing a digital watermark to obtain image data of the printed material. The extractor extracts, from the digital watermark contained in the image data, first storage-location information indicating a storage location where electronic source data of the printed material is stored. The acquirer acquires the electronic source data from the storage location indicated by the first storage-location information. The operation acceptance unit displays pieces of to-be-acquired information that are a unit of information acquired from the electronic source data, and accepts an operation input specifying selection of at least one piece of to-be-acquired information. The storage control unit stores the selected piece of to-be-acquired information in a storage location indicated by second storage-location information.
Abstract:
To allow re-producing, in another image processing apparatus, contents of image processing in an image processing apparatus, a provisional color grading apparatus 300 determines normalizing points (CodeValues that serve as references for normalizing) of input image signals according to format information and normalizes the input image signals. The provisional color grading apparatus 300 records values (normalizing information) obtained by converting the normalizing points into numerical values independent of devices, in association with parameters of color grading.
Abstract:
This patent document relates generally to steganography and digital watermarking. One claim recites an apparatus comprising: memory for storing data representing an image or video, in which the data comprises first data corresponding to first color data, second data corresponding to second color data and third data corresponding to third color data, the image or video to host auxiliary information; a processor programmed for: weighting the first data, the second data and the third data according to at least the following two factors: i) a color direction associated with an expected embedding direction; and ii) expected image capture or signal processing; and determining from weighted first data, weighted second data and weighted third data, changes in one or more image or video attribute(s), in which the auxiliary information is conveyed through the changes. Of course, other claims and combinations are provided too.
Abstract:
A document contains a security element that combines a correlation mark and microgloss mark so that foreground pixels of the correlation mark are printed in a toner of a first color, and pixels of the correlation mark overwrite portions of the correlation mark in a second color, but neither the first color nor the second color appear on areas that correspond to background pixels of the correlation mark.
Abstract:
Video and corresponding metadata is accessed. Events of interest within the video are identified based on the corresponding metadata, and best scenes are identified based on the identified events of interest. A video summary can be generated including one or more of the identified best scenes. The video summary can be generated using a video summary template with slots corresponding to video clips selected from among sets of candidate video clips. Best scenes can also be identified by receiving an indication of an event of interest within video from a user during the capture of the video. Metadata patterns representing activities identified within video clips can be identified within other videos, which can subsequently be associated with the identified activities.

This patent document relates generally to steganography and digital watermarking. One claim recites a method comprising: receiving data representing image or video, in which the data comprises first data corresponding to first color data, second data corresponding to second color data and third data corresponding to third color data, the image or video to host auxiliary information; weighting the first data, the second data and the third data according to at least the following two factors: i) a color direction biased toward an expected embedding direction; and ii) expected image or video distortion introduced to the first data, the second data or the third data through image capture or signal processing; determining, from weighted first data, weighted second data and weighted third data, changes in an image or video attribute; and transforming the data representing image or video with the changes, in which the auxiliary information is conveyed through the changes. Of course, other claims are provided too.

Abstract:
An image reading apparatus includes a specifying unit that specifies address information, which indicates a data storage location in a first server that is connected via a network; an image data delivering unit that delivers image data, which is obtained by reading an original image, to the data storage location indicated by the address information specified by the specifying unit; a generating unit that generates log data containing file path information, the file path information containing a file name of the image data and the address information that indicates the data storage location to which the image data is sent; and a log editing unit that adds the log data to a delivery log maintained in a second server connected via the network.
Abstract:
The present invention relates to steganography and digital watermarking. In one implementation, we provide a method to analyze a digital image to determine whether the digital image will be a suitable host to receive steganographic encoding or digital watermarking. Suitability is determined, at least in part, by analyzing the digital image relative to an expected workflow process through which a watermarked version of the digital image is expected to flow through. Our methods and systems determine whether the digital image forms a suitable host to receive digital watermarking relative to the expected workflow process. If the digital image is not suitable, the digital image is modified to better receive digital watermarking in anticipation of the expected workflow process.
Abstract:
A method to control an image processing apparatus includes obtaining linkage information representing a relation between a plurality of image files and recording the linkage information as metadata in each of the plurality of image files. This method ensures that a large number of image files are more easily and conveniently classified since linkage information representing relations between a plurality of image files is recorded as metadata in each of the plurality of image files.
