Abstract:
A method for managing audio during a conference includes steering, at a spatial steering processor of a mobile device, first decoded audio to be projected from a speaker at a first angle. The method also includes steering, at the spatial steering processor, second decoded audio to be projected from the speaker at a second angle. The first decoded audio corresponds to a decoded version of a first audio stream from a first device associated with a first participant of the conference, and the second decoded audio corresponds to a decoded version of a second audio stream from a second device associated with a second participant of the conference. The first decoded audio is synchronized with the second decoded audio.
Abstract:
A conference call management system and a method for operating the management system in a controlled environment are disclosed. The conference call management system includes a monitored conference device and a conference server. The monitored conference device receives authorization from the conference server to conduct conference calls within the controlled environment. The monitored conference device further receives a conference call application from the conference server that enables the monitored conference device to initiate and establish conference calls through the conference server. The conference call application allows a user of the monitored conference device to select outside parties to add to the conference call.
Abstract:
Providing high availability multi-way conferencing. Separate signaling and media components may be provided within an MCU or among a cluster of MCUs. A signaling server may control signaling aspects of a conference while a media server may provide media support for the conference. In the event of media server failure, the signaling server may assign a new media server to provide media support for the conference. A backup signaling server may also monitor the signaling server and may provide signaling support for the conference in the event of signaling server failure.
Abstract:
[Problem] To achieve a voice communication system which communicates between two networks that use partially overlapping address spaces.[Solution] According to the present invention, first and second networks are connected to one another by means of a gateway device provided with: a first protocol stack which manages transmission and reception addresses of communication packets in the first network; a second protocol stack which manages transmission and reception addresses of communication packets in the second network; and a call control unit which, upon reception of a communication packet from either network, determines the transfer destination network and transfer destination address of the packet on the basis of call destination information included in the packet.
Abstract:
Methods and apparatuses are described for application broadcasting. For one embodiment, pixel data being broadcast from a moderator to one or more participants is divided into tiles. Display data is generated for each tile. Each display data segment (segment) contains the pixel data for the tile, and also contains a tile identifier. The segments are periodically evaluated. If the pixel data has changed, the segment is replaced with the most recent segment corresponding to that tile. A time indicator is also included within each segment for each tile indicating the time at which the segment was updated. A participant DPS requests data from the server and provides the time indicator for the last segment it received. The server then transmits the current segment for each tile that has been updated subsequently. This allows presentation at the participant's DPS of the most current version of the moderator's display screen.
Abstract:
Various embodiments of methods, systems, and computer programs are disclosed for providing advertisements in a conference user interface. One embodiment is a method comprising: a conferencing system establishing a conference between a plurality of participants via a corresponding computing device connected to the conferencing system via a communication network; presenting a conference user interface to the computing devices, the conference user interface displaying each of the participants as a unique participant object in a virtual location; an online advertising platform selecting advertisement data from one or more advertisers; providing the selected advertisement data to the conferencing system; and displaying the advertisement data with an associated advertisement object in the virtual location during the conference.
Abstract:
In one aspect, audio streams are added to a mix until the mix is either complete (i.e., all audio streams have been added) or the mix is closed early (i.e., before the mix is complete). In another aspect, audio and video streams are synchronized by playing back the audio stream and then synchronizing display of the video frames to the playback of the audio stream.
Abstract:
A transmission management system receives, when a terminal and a relay device is connected, domain information that indicates a management system capable of executing control associated with start of communication using the relay device. The management system can allow another management system to execute control based on the domain information even if the management system cannot execute the control.
Abstract:
Responsive to detecting a call from a first user into a call system, a user identifier associated with the first user to can be added to respective user information stored in an e-meeting data structure associated with the call. A determination can be made as to whether the call system recognizes the user identifier associated with the first user and, responsive to determining the call system does not recognize the user identifier associated with the first user, a determination can be made as to whether the call system recognizes a voice of the first user. If the call system does not recognize the voice of the first user, a location of the first user can be identified by processing the user identifier. The location of the first user can be added to respective user information stored in the e-meeting data structure. An e-meeting can be generated for the call.
