摘要： A transplanter for transferring seedlings from plant trays to a planting position includes a special plant tray having a series of longitudinal indexing grooves and a transverse alignment groove for engagement with indexing rods and support rings that are joined together to form an indexing drum. The indexing drum is mounted adjacent a loading frame for guiding the plant trays into position for ejection of the plant seedlings and includes an integrally internally mounted plug ejector subassembly which moves relative to the indexing drum at each of a number of successive indexing positions of the drum for ejection of seedlings from the plant tray. The indexing grooves and transverse alignment groove on the plant tray provide datum surfaces for ensuring accurate positioning of the plug ejector subassembly relative to the seedlings in the plant tray.

摘要： A device for placing seed into the soil at a specific pitch in which radiating spikes of two star wheel formed discs are brought together by rotating the discs synchronously at an angle and that each of the radiating spikes has on its inner side a hollow channel forming an internal closed funnel when the spikes are brought together and opens when by further rotating the spikes move away from each other. The means for placing seed or small objects into the funnels consists of a hub disposed about the axis of rotation of the disc and mounted to rotate with the discs which hub is provided with cells adapted to receive the seed or the other small objects and to release them upon rotation of the discs so they can fall under gravity into the funnel. The device is particularly suitable for the sowing of seed in soil covered by a thick crop residue.

摘要： A method for feeding plant cells in a planting machine, whereby a unified line of cells consisting of plant cells connected to each other is detached from a unified cell sheetcomprising plant cells, the unified line of cells is shifted downwards on upwards through cutting apparatus which direct a cutting effect at the joints between the individual plant cells in the unified line of cellseither from the same direction or from the opposite direction as compared with the direction from which the plant cells are supported during the shifting, in order to cut the cells in the line of cells loose from each other, and the detached plant cells are passed to a distributor in order to feed the plant cells as separated from each other to the planting device. The cutting loose of the plant cells takes place totally automatically when the plant cells are shifted from the cell sheet to the distributor, and does not require any extra movements for cutting loose.The device for putting the method into effect is provided with cutting devices which are arranged in line one after the other at relative distances so that the cutting devices are positioned on the paths of movement of the joints between the individual plant cells in the line of cells. The cutting devices are arranged underneath or above the plane of the cell sheet. For cutting the plant cells loose, no mechanisms need to be provided in order to produce particular movements for cutting loose.

摘要： A fertilizer spreading mechanism in the rear portion of a vehicle body. A scraper belt on the floor of the vehicle conveys fertilizer in incremental steps towards a pair of helical rollers which are rotatably mounted on vertically disposed axes. The rollers spread the fertilizer conveyed to the rear of the vehicle by the scraper belt. The helical rollers are provided with a plurality of teeth on the edges thereof which disengage the fertilizer from the mass in the vehicle. The mechanism spreads the fertilizer alternately towards and away from each of the rollers by means of oscillating members located between and/or on both sides of the spreading rollers.
