Abstract: Methods and systems of admixing hydrocarbon liquids from a plurality of tanks into a single pipeline thereof. The system may include two or more tanks positioned at a tank farm each containing a hydrocarbon liquid therein. The system may include two or more first main pipes, each connected to one of the tanks. The system may include two or more main valves, each connected to one of the first main pipes. The system may include two or more second main pipes each connected to a corresponding main valve. The system may include two or more mixing jumpers, each connected to a corresponding first main pipe, each mixing jumper to, when a corresponding main valve is closed, control hydrocarbon liquid. The system may include a mixing pipe, connected to the second main pipes and the mixing jumpers, configured to transport hydrocarbon liquid from one or more of the tanks.

Abstract: A mixer and method for mixing are provided. The mixer includes a housing including a fluid inlet, an additive inlet, and an outlet. The housing defines a mixing chamber in fluid communication with the fluid inlet, the additive inlet, and the outlet. The mixer also includes an impeller disposed in the mixing chamber. When rotated, the impeller pumps fluid through the fluid inlet. The mixer also includes a slinger disposed in the mixing chamber and configured to receive the fluid from the impeller and to receive an additive from the additive inlet. When rotated, the slinger slings the fluid and the additive radially outwards. The mixer further includes a flush line extending between the mixing chamber and the additive inlet. The flush line is receives, from the mixing chamber, a portion of the fluid pumped by the impeller and to deliver the portion of the fluid to the additive inlet.

Abstract: A device according to the invention for dispersing a gas into a liquid comprising a liquid volume and a nozzle which is immersed in the liquid volume below a liquid level. The nozzle has a conical annular gap at the tip of which a nozzle opening is provided, and a liquid feed line opening tangentially into the conical annular gap. A gas feed line for a gas to be dispersed into the liquid volume opens into the liquid feed line, into the annular gap or in the region of the nozzle opening. The nozzle causes a strong swirling movement in the liquid fed into the liquid volume, which allows good dispersion of the gas that has been introduced via the gas feed line.

Abstract: A mixing device for mixing first and second substances to form a mixed substance includes a housing having first and second inlets for first and second substances and an outlet for the mixed substance. A flow channel between the first inlet and the outlet and has a flow axis therebetween. The flow channel has a Venturi section having a side wall. A lateral feed opening in the side wall in a first lateral direction is connected to the second inlet, and the opening has a feed axis in said first lateral direction substantially perpendicular to the flow axis of the flow channel. Upstream from the lateral feed opening the side wall of the Venturi tube section forms a first constricted part having a first width in the first lateral direction and a second width perpendicular to the first lateral direction. The second width is larger than the first width.

Abstract: Methods and systems of admixing hydrocarbon liquids from two or more sets of tanks into a single pipeline to provide in-line mixing thereof. In an embodiment of the in-line mixing system, hydrocarbon liquids stored in at least one tank of each of two or more sets of tanks positioned at a tank farm are blended into a blend flow pipe via in-line mixing and the blended mixture is pumped through a single pipeline. In one or more embodiments, the in-line mixing system employs a separate spillback or recirculation loop that is fluidly connected to each set of the two or more sets of tanks to control the flow of the hydrocarbon fluid/liquid from each set of tanks to the blend flow pipe. Associated methods of operating one or more embodiments of the system include regulation of spillback or recirculation loop flow rate and/or pressure to drive the actual blend ratio towards a desired blend ratio.
