Abstract: A method as well as a liquid mixing system for providing a liquid mixture of water with at least one additive. The liquid mixing system comprises a first water reservoir, a first additive reservoir, a mixing unit, a conveying device and a line network. At least one first measurement value of the flow of the first additive conveyed to a mixing device is determined by an additive flowmeter. The total stream of the liquid mixture conveyed by the conveying device is measured by a liquid mixture flowmeter. The determined measurement values are transmitted to a control device, and from there passed on to a data storage device where they are stored.

Abstract: The present disclosure provides methods and compositions for detecting polynucleotides in a sample and for quantifying polynucleotide load in a sample. The polynucleotides can be associated with a disease, disorder, or condition. In some applications, methylated DNA is quantified, e.g., in order to determine the load of polynucleotides in a sample. The present disclosure also provides methods and compositions for determining the load of fetal polynucleotides in a biological sample, e.g., the load of fetal polynucleotides (e.g., DNA, RNA) in maternal plasma. The present disclosure provides methods and compositions for detecting cellular processes such as cellular viability, growth rates, and infection rates. This disclosure also provides compositions and methods for detecting differences in copy number of a target polynucleotide. In some embodiments, the methods and compositions provided herein are useful for diagnosis of fetal genetic abnormalities, when the starting sample is maternal tissue (e.g., blood, plasma). The methods and materials described apply techniques for allowing detection of small, but statistically significant, differences in polynucleotide copy number.

Abstract: A method for unsealing an opening of a laboratory sample container containing a sample is presented. The opening is sealed by a closure attached to the laboratory sample container by an adhesive. An adhesive strength of the adhesive is lowerable by treatment. The method comprises treating the adhesive such that its adhesive strength is lowered and removing the closure from the laboratory sample container.

Abstract: A mixing funnel for mixing fluids is provided. In one embodiment, the mixing funnel includes a tray having a fluid inlet arranged to receive a primary fluid flow, and first and second fluid passages configured to receive primary fluid flow from the fluid inlet such that the flow is divided to flow along the first and second fluid passages. The first and second fluid passages can be arranged to direct the primary fluid flow to a mixing area. The tray can further include a fluid outlet arranged to receive the primary fluid flow from the mixing area and to deliver the fluid to a container.

Abstract: A chemical mixture dispensing assembly for automatically filling a fluid containment with a predetermined ratio of chemicals and water includes a housing that is mountable on a support surface such that the housing is positioned proximate a fluid containment. The housing is fluid coupled to a water source, a first chemical source and a second chemical source. A mixing unit is positioned in the housing and the mixing unit mixes a predetermined volume of fluid from the first chemical source and the second chemical source with a predetermined volume of water from the water source to produce a fluid mixture. The mixing unit dispenses a predetermined volume of the fluid mixture from the mixture outlet to fill the fluid containment with the fluid mixture.

The outlet port fluid has a mixture ratio of the first inlet fluid and the second inlet fluid for a particular application that depends on dimensions of the first inlet port orifice size, the second inlet port orifice size and the outlet port orifice size.
