Abstract:
A control system is a control system of casting and rolling equipment having a twin roll-type continuous casting machine, a rolling mill, and a conveyor. The control system includes a rolling mill control unit that controls the rolling mill by any one of controls including a rolling control and an open control, a conveyor control unit that controls the conveyor by any one of controls including a tension control and a speed control, a first control unit that controls to perform the rolling control and the tension control, a second control unit that controls to perform the open control and the speed control, and a third control unit that controls to resume the tension control and the rolling control.
Abstract:
An apparatus for controlling a strip tension during flexible rolling of metal strip comprises a roll arrangement with at least one dancer roll, the position of said dancer roll being adjustable for controlling the strip tension of the metal strip, at least one hydraulic drive coupled to the dancer roll for adjusting the dancer roll, a hydraulic tank for hydraulic fluid, which is fluidly connected to the hydraulic drive via a hydraulic supply line, a controllable valve arrangement between the hydraulic tank and the hydraulic drive for controlling the hydraulic drive, a hydraulic pump with which the hydraulic drive is supplied with hydraulic fluid from the hydraulic tank, and at least one hydraulic pressure accumulator for temporarily storing hydraulic fluid previously delivered by the hydraulic pump, the hydraulic pressure accumulator being arranged between the hydraulic pump and the valve arrangement, wherein a pressure sensor is arranged in the hydraulic drive for determining the hydraulic pressure.
Abstract:
Before the rolling of a metal strip on a finishing train, the actual width and actual temperature of portions of the metal strip are respectively detected. The portions of the metal strip are tracked while they run through the finishing train. The rolling stands are respectively assigned width controlling devices which determine the setpoint width and the actual width after the rolling in the assigned rolling stand, and a downstream additional setpoint value, by which the desired tension downstream of the assigned rolling stand is corrected in order to bring the actual width closer to the setpoint width. The downstream additional setpoint value is both taken into account in the determination of the actual width and fed to a tension controller, which sets an actual tension, in the metal strip downstream of the assigned rolling stand, in accordance with the corrected setpoint tension. Determining the downstream additional setpoint value by the difference between the setpoint width and the actual width of a portion of the metal strip.
Abstract:
An apparatus for guiding hot-rolled strips through an inductor, arranged between two adjacent roll stands, of an induction heating device, in particular within a finishing mill behind a strip-casting installation or thin-slab casting installation. The apparatus guides the strip between the roll stands under controlled tension over at least two guide rollers arranged on both sides of the inductor in a plane of travel of the strip which extends centrally through the inductor space between the induction coils. A tension-measurement roller is provided for regulating the tension of the strip and is arranged in front of the inductor and the first guide roller.
Abstract:
A method of regulating the cross-section of rolling stock through a looper for the rolling stock, particularly between roll stands in section rolling mills. In accordance with the method, the horizontal forces in the rolling stock are varied by varying the loop height, and width increases or width adjustments of the rolling stock are purposefully influenced through the horizontal forces.
Abstract:
An interstand tension controller for a continuous rolling mill having a plurality of rolling stands and provided with a looper between the adjacent rolling stands controls two controlled variables, i.e., the interstand tension of the workpiece and the looping angle of the looper, to adjust the measured interstand tension and the measured looping angle to desired values, has control loops that control the rotating speed of the rolls of the rolling stand and the looping torque or the looping speed of the looper to regulate the interstand tension and the looping angle, estimates disturbances acting on the control loops, the variation of the characteristics of the controlled system and the interference between the control loops, and operates manipulated variables to offset the disturbances.
Abstract:
Disclosed is a process for making di(acyloxyalkyl) di(alkyl) ammonium compounds useful as fabric softeners. The corresponding di(hydroxyalkyl) tertiary amine is diesterified under conditions determined to minimize the formation of monoester side product and then the diester is quaternized under conditions effective to minimize degradation of the quaternized diester.
Abstract:
In rolling mills having at least two roller pairs with individual driving means there is a device for controlling the same, which device contains amplifiers for regulating the speed of the driving means. Between the roller pairs are arranged measuring devices to measure the position of the loop of material to be rolled, the output side of which is connected to the speed amplifier of a subsequent or preceding roller pair in the direction of rolling. This output side is also connected to the input side of the summator for subsequent and preceding measuring devices respectively.
