摘要： A machine for corrugating sheet metal or the like comprises a plurality of successive working stations each provided with upper and lower rotatable corrugating devices adapted to jointly provide corrugations of successively increasing depth in a metal sheet (6) which is successively advanced through the machine from a front station toward a rear station. According to the invention, both the upper and the lower corrugating device at each station comprises a plurality of rollers (13, 16) which are individually mounted and thus rotatable at optionally variable peripheral speeds. The rollers (13, 16) preferably are adjustably movable in the direction of their axes of rotation and lockable at desired spaced-apart locations.

摘要： A method for manufacturing a composite structure is disclosed herein. The process uses a frame and selectively pressurizable forms. The forms define the interior members of the composite structure and frames define the exterior surface of the composite structure. Composite material is wrapped around the forms and the forms and composite material are placed in the frame. Selective forms are then pressurized and the composite material is co-cured together. A single piece co-cured fuselage incorporating a plurality of stiffeners is also disclosed in the application. The stiffeners are co-cured to the fuselage and may be in various patterns. The patterns may include an iso-grid pattern, and ortho-grid pattern, and a hoop-grid pattern.

摘要： Tube bending/crimping apparatus has a frame, a toggle assembly and a carriage assembly. The toggle assembly has overlapping male dies with tapering working tips that form a self-centering wedge. The carriage assembly has a shaft with a pinion that engages a rack on the frame to move the carriage assembly. A handle on the shaft is linked to the shaft by a cam clutch and a plunger, so that when the plunger is engaged, pushing the handle moves the carriage assembly forward. When the plunger is disengaged, the carriage assembly is easily moved back to the starting position. Mechanical stops for the handle assure consistent advancement. A receiving element on the carriage assembly has grooves for several sizes and orientations of tube.

摘要： An annular heat exchanger suitable for a gas turbine engine includes a first continuous sheet of material arranged in a spiral and a second continuous sheet of material arranged in a spiral. A first axially extending passage is defined between the first surface of the first sheet and the third surface of the second sheet and a second axially extending passage is defined between the second surface of the first sheet and the fourth surface of the second sheet. The first passage is closed at its axial ends by spiral seals between the first sheet and the second sheet. The second passage is open at its axial ends. A plurality of radially extending passages are provided to supply a first fluid at a first end into the first passage, to remove the first fluid from a second end of the first passage and to interconnect adjacent turns of the first passage. The passages extend radially through the second passage.

摘要： A self-contained apparatus for forming metal sheet is adapted for operation within a standard double action press having a base and outer and inner vertically reciprocating slides and includes a basic die mountable to the press and specific tooling replaceably mountable to the basic die. The basic die includes an upper shoe mountable to the outer slide, a lower shoe mountable atop the base and hydraulic cylinder assemblies connected to the lower shoe and mechanically actuatable by the inner slide for providing pressurized fluid to the specific tooling. The specific tooling includes mating upper and lower dies connected to the corresponding upper and lower shoes and movable between open and closed positions. A sheet metal blank positioned upon the lower die is wrapped around the lower die as the upper die is moved down to a closed position by the outer slide, the blank being clamped between the upper and lower dies whereby the periphery of the blank is securely gripped by gripper steels mounted all around a part print cavity in the upper die. The outer slide then dwells while the inner slide moves down, engaging and actuating the cylinder assemblies, causing hydraulic fluid to be forced into a region between the clamped blank and the lower die, the blank being 100% stretch formed into the part print cavity defined in the upper die.
