摘要: Loose particulate materials can be problematic in various aspects. For example, loose particulate materials may generate dust or be difficult to consolidate together. Fines in loose particulate materials may also be an issue. Coated particulates may alleviate some of the foregoing issues. Suitable coated particulates may comprise a particulate material comprising sand or a ceramic, and a polysaccharide composition coated upon the particulate material, the polysaccharide composition comprising a functionalized polysaccharide. Other particulate materials such as wood chips and animal litter particulates may be coated with functionalized polysaccharides to achieve similar advantages.

摘要: The invention relates to a mold material mixture for producing casting molds for metal processing, a process for producing casting molds, casting molds which can be obtained by the process and their use. The production of the casting molds is carried out using a refractory base molding material and a binder based on water glass. A proportion of a particulate metal oxide selected from the group consisting of silicon dioxide, aluminium oxide, titanium oxide and zinc oxide is added to the binder, with particular preference being given to using synthetic amorphous silicon dioxide. The mold material mixture contains a surface-active material as further significant constituent. The addition of the surface-active material enables the flowability of the mold material mixture to be improved, which makes it possible to produce casting molds having a very complicated geometry.

摘要: The binder coated refractories comprises the refractory aggregates and the solid-form coating layer which comprises the sugar group as the binder and which is provided to the surface of the refractory aggregates. According to this, the sugar group is used as the binder for bonding the refractory aggregates. Further, even if the sugar group is thermally decomposed, the sugar group emits the carbon dioxide and the water. Therefore, there is little likelihood of emitting the harmful gas. Therefore, it is possible to reduce the environmental pollution. Further, the sugar group is thermally decomposed easily. Therefore, it is possible to manufacture the casting mold having the good breaking property.

摘要: A foundry mold member made from a plurality of sand practice bound together with a binder which is concentrated at the contact points between contiguous particles and consists essentially of gelatins having a Bloom rating less than about 175 Bloom grams. The sand particles are first coated with a sol of the gelatin, cooled to ambient temperature and conditioned to prescribed water content necessary to effect migration of the gelatin to the interparticle contact points upon heating of the coated particles in a pattern mold.

摘要: An amylaceous material having alkaline viscosities in the range of 10 to 20 seconds using a 1.3 g sample and 15 to 20 seconds using a 5.2 g sample and having cold water solubles of between 50% and 98% is made by hydrolysis of starting material such as corn, flour, corn meal, corn grits, corn starch, sorghum flour, sorghum meal and sorghum grits at moistures between 5% and 12%, adjusting the pH of the hydrolyzed amylaceous material to between pH 3 and 6, gelatinizing the pH adjusted hydrolyzed amylaceous material, and removing water from the gelatinized product.
