    摘要: High pressure presses, components for high pressure presses and related methods are provided herein. In one embodiment of the invention, a press base may include a piston cavity formed in the press base and a piston cavity sleeve positioned in the piston cavity. The piston cavity sleeve may include a wall having an outer surface and an inner surface opposite the outer surface. The piston cavity sleeve may further include a floor having an upper surface and a lower surface opposite the upper surface. An outer radius may be formed at a juncture of the outer surface of the wall and lower surface of the floor and an inner radius may be formed at a juncture of the inner surface of the wall and upper surface of the floor. The inner radius may exhibit a radius of curvature that is greater than a radius of curvature of the outer radius.

A layer of a cold spray powder is applied to the reference surface via cold spraying to define a piston blank surface. The piston blank surface is outwardly offset relative to the portion of the exterior surface adjacent the reference surface. The cold spray powder is made from a powder material comprising the metal. The piston blank surface is machined to define a piston finish surface. The piston finish surface has a dimension which is within a predetermined range.

The tool comprises a generally C-shaped clamp subassembly having a lower jaw, an upper jaw, and an arm. A spindle is connected through the upper jaw, the spindle having a spindle lower end. An upper channel member, preferably U-shaped, is connected to the spindle lower end, the upper channel member configured to travel axially along the spindle and engage a first eyelet of a gas cylinder. A lower channel member, also preferably U-shaped, is connected to an outer end of the lower jaw in alignment with the upper channel member, the lower channel member configured to engage an opposing, second eyelet of the gas cylinder, wherein the gas cylinder is compressed and secured within the clamp subassembly and immobilized for installation.

Residual compressive stress is restored to the fillet at least in part via the plastic deformation. A mask and used cylinder liner assembly for processing the used cylinder liner during remanufacturing is also disclosed.

    摘要: A method for repairing the cylinder block of an internal combustion engine. The cylinder block engages a standard cylinder head and includes an outer cylinder casting that surrounds an inner cylinder sleeve. The casting has corrosion formed in an end surface that faces the cylinder head. The method includes the steps of providing a repair ring that is separate and distinct from the cylinder sleeve and has a selected thickness. A counterbore is formed in the end surface of the cylinder casting to remove the corrosion therefrom. The counterbore has a depth that is no greater than the thickness of the ring. The ring is installed annularly about and in close tolerance fit with the cylinder sleeve and is introduced into the counterbore. At least one of the cylinder sleeve and the ring are machined for form thereon respective, generally co-planar surfaces that face the cylinder head.
