摘要: The present invention describes a new artificial supported membrane, as well as methods of preparation of such membrane or of reconstitution of cell membranes from their constituent proteins and lipids. Such membrane comprises a lipid bilayer attached to a support by phospholipid tethers (P) creating a space between the bilayer and the support, as well as one or more ligands (L) specific of a protein, covalently bound to the support and exposed in said space. The invention equally describes the uses of such membranes which allow the purification and/or reversible capture of membrane proteins or yet the screening of compounds that interact with some of these proteins. A membrane according to the invention may further serve to evaluate the toxicity or, conversely, the therapeutic effect of test compounds. The invention is particularly useful for analyzing protein-protein interactions within membranes and may thus be employed in the pharmaceutical industry for analysis of the toxic or beneficial profile of molecules that may be candidates for pharmaceutical development and/or enter into pharmaceutical compositions. In the field of biotechnology or in the field of medicine, such supported membranes may also be used in the manufacture of more efficient biomaterials.

摘要: The current invention is directed to micro-stencil devices and methods. A micro-stencil, in accordance with this invention, comprises a patterned stencil membrane formed from a polymeric layer patterned with stencil features preferably having lateral dimensions in a range of 10 micron to 100 nanometers or less. The micro-stencil preferably includes a porous backing membrane coupled to the stencil membrane to control the flow of print fluids, to allow for two-way flow of print fluids and/or curing gases during a printing operation. The stencil membrane is preferably configured to directly print the stencil features onto a suitable print medium surface. The micro-stencil of the instant invention, is preferably utilized for printing structures comprising interconnected layers, such as micro-circuits, and/or structures comprising polymer arrays.

摘要: A spacer assembly has first and second spacers that are set up integrally on first and second surfaces, respectively, of a substrate. Each spacer is tapered toward its extended end. In forming the spacer assembly, first and second molding dies having through holes coated with a parting agent that contains an organic component are prepared, and these molding dies are located on the first and second surfaces of the substrate so as to be intimately in contact with them, individually. Thereafter, a spacer forming material is filled into the through holes of the molding dies and cured, whereupon the first and second spacers are formed integrally on the substrate surfaces.

摘要: A dielectric ceramic article precursor and a process for preparing a dielectric ceramic article are presented. The ceramic article precursor comprises a crystalline aluminosilicate zeolite or an amorphous aluminosilicate, a zinc oxide additive and a glass phase. The ceramic article precursor can optionally contain at least one forming aid selected from binders, plasticizers and surfactants. The process for preparing a dielectric ceramic article involves forming a mixture from the above components into a shaped article such as a tape and then calcining the shaped article at a temperature of about 700null C. to about 1000null C. for a time of about 0.5 to about 24 hours.

摘要: This invention relates to a stamper for optical disc and a method for manufacturing an optical disc by using this stamper. A photoresist is applied to a substrate (2) and this photoresist is exposed, developed and then transferred to form a disc master which has a recess/protrusion pattern formed on its one side. The one side of the disc master (20) is etched to narrow the width of a protruding part constituting the recess/protrusion pattern, and the recess/protrusion pattern of the disc master (20) with the reduced width of the protruding part is transferred to form a stamper (30). The recess/protrusion pattern provided on the stamper (30) is transferred to form a predetermined pattern on a substrate of an optical disc.

摘要: The present invention is a specialized implant having opposed surfaces for engaging each of the vertebral bodies adjacent a disc space into which the implant is implanted. The surface comprises arrayed projections having at least one forward facing facet directed at least in part toward the leading end of the implant and at least one rearward portion directed at least in part toward the opposite trailing end of the implant. Each of the forward facet and rearward portion has a length and a slope. The length of the forward facet is longer than the length of the rearward facet. The slope of the rearward facet is steeper than the slope of the forward facet. The surface projections also have opposed side facets directed generally toward the sides of the implant. The side facets are located between the forward facet and rearward facet and converge toward each other in a direction away from the base of the surface projections. The surface may also include projections having left and right forward side facets and a rearward facet. The surface further may include projections having left and right rearward side facets and a forward facet.

摘要: The object of this invention is the method of manufacture of a symmetric element of a round ring and cone-shaped ring applicable in serial production. The application area of the invention is particularly the prefabrication of ceramic coating elements, which match together and which are assembled in straight walls, a surface coating containing cylinder rings and cone-shaped rings. Good application objects are for example the cyclones and the ducts of circulating bed boilers, carburetor plants, etc. various combustion chambers and high temperature devices. The concerned elements have special conditions concerning their tightness, so that their seam surfaces must be shaped so that they are profile surfaces differing from plane surfaces, profile surfaces having the capacity to resist to leakage through seam better than straight surfaces.
