Abstract:
A tire (10) is employed for the rear wheel of a motorcycle. A tread surface (16) is provided with a waveform groove (22), an intermediate groove (23) and a shoulder groove (24). The waveform groove (22) meanders in a circumferential direction over the central portion of the tread surface (16). The intermediate groove (23) is provided on the left and right of the waveform groove (22) along the waveform groove (22). The intermediate groove (23) is present in a predetermined region (ER). The intermediate groove (23) is formed like a boomerang having a long portion (32) and a short portion (31). An angle θ with respect to the axial direction of the long portion (32) is 45 to 75 degrees. The shoulder groove (24) is provided on an outside in the axial direction of the tread surface (16). An angle α of the shoulder groove (24) is set to be 25 degrees≦α≦50 degrees and α
Abstract:
A motorcycle tire comprising a generally toroidal-shaped surface extending between two opposite sidewalls of the tire and a plurality of blocks being arranged onto the toroidal-shaped surface is disclosed. The blocks are adapted to be ground contacting and to form an outer circumferential tread profile of the tire. At least a portion of the blocks has a cross-like structure or a T-shaped structure in topview onto the toroidal-shaped surface. The tire is made to be mounted on a trailing wheel of a motorcycle. It can be used as off-road tire or as high-speed motocross tire.
Abstract:
A tyre for a wheel of a vehicle comprises a toroidal carcass provided with axially opposite sidewalls and beads for anchoring the tyre to a rim of the wheel, a tread band located crownwise on the carcass, comprising a surface with a plurality of hollows and grooves defining a raised tread pattern, and a belt structure interposed between the carcass and the tread band, axially extending between the sidewalls. The tread band comprises at least first and second circumferential axially-contiguous portions arranged to contact a road surface. The first portion is formed of a first composition comprising a reinforcing filler having at least 40%-by-weight carbon black and at least some white filler, the second portion is formed of a second composition comprising a reinforcing filler having at least 20%-by-weight white filler, and the first composition is different from the second composition. A difference of compositions between the at least first and second portions achieves a tyre operating temperature lower than a reference temperature.
Abstract:
A motor-cycle tire (1) comprising a ground contacting tread (2) reinforced between its edges (3,4) by a breaker assembly and having in its normally inflated fitted condition a camber value C/L of between 0.5 and 0.7, a reinforcing carcass ply (14) extending radially inside the breaker assembly and between two bead regions (10,11) and wrapped in each bead region around an annular bead core (12,13) from the axial inside to the outside to form carcass ply turn-ups (15,16) and between the tread edges (3,4) and bead regions (10,11), tire sidewalls (8,9) wherein the breaker assembly comprises two breaker plies (5,7) comprising reinforcing cords oppositely inclined with respect to the circumferential direction of the tire characterized in that the tread comprises two different rubber compounds, the first rubber compound extending in a continuous first layer between the tread edges (3,4) and the second rubber compound being disposed in a second layer radially outwardly of the layer of the first rubber compound to form the tread running surface in the central portion of the tread.
Abstract:
A tire 10 for a bicycle is described having a tread that comprises transverse channels defining a block tread pattern for improving grip when the tire is used in off-road conditions. Two axially spaced circumferentially continuous parallel ribs 14 straddle the tire centreline and project radially beyond the block tread pattern to improve ride quality on a smooth road surface.
Abstract:
The present invention is to provide a motorcycle tire capable of remarkably improving a traction characteristic and an anti-sideslip characteristic for cornering without deteriorating the mud expulsion characteristic especially on a dirt road. A motorcycle tire has a plurality of main blocks 2 scattered on a tread 1. Sub blocks 3 are provided between the main blocks 2. The sub block 3 is made of rubber and has block height H2 lower than that the height H1 of the main block 2. A part of the rubber constituting a top portion 9 of the sub block 3 has been removed to reduce the area of a upper face 5 of the sub block 3.
Abstract:
A radius of curvature (R1) of a corner portion (40) on one side (an inside in an axial direction) of a groove of a tyre (20) is smaller than a radius of curvature (R2) of the other corner portion (41). Both of the radii of curvature (R1) and (R2) are set to be 2 mm or more. A first phantom circle (42) for defining the corner portion (40) is inscribed on a second phantom circle (43) for defining the corner portion (41). A point of contact (44) of the first phantom circle (42) and the second phantom circle (43) is positioned on an outside from the center of a groove (28c). A distance between the center of the groove (28c) and the point of contact (44) is equal to or smaller than one fifth of a width (B) of the groove (28c).
Abstract:
A tire structure for a bicycle includes a tire body having an outer periphery, and a tread integrally formed on the outer periphery of the tire body. The tread includes an inner layer having a first color, and an outer layer coated on the inner layer and having a second color different from the first color. The outer layer formed with a plurality of openings, thereby exposing the inner layer outward from the outer layer through the plurality of openings. In such a manner, the inner layer and the outer layer of the tread present at least two different colors, thereby increasing the aesthetic quality of the tire structure of the bicycle.
