Abstract:
A smart governor system that intercepts and adjusts throttle commands when certain criteria are met based on vehicle operations and a user-selected transmission mode. The governor, when engaged, reduces a throttle command in order limit engine and/or ground speed.

Abstract:
A transport refrigeration system having: a first engine (26) configured to power a refrigeration unit (22); a first fuel tank (330) fluidly connected to the first engine through a first fuel line (332); a first shut off valve (450) located within the first fuel line proximate the first fuel tank; a second shut off valve (72) located within the first fuel line proximate the first engine; a sensor system (80) configured to detect at least one of a crash of the transport refrigeration system, a fuel leak in the first fuel line, and an engine stall in the first engine; and a controller (30) configured to close the first shutoff valve and the second shutoff valve when the sensor system detects at least one of a crash of the transport refrigeration system, a fuel leak in the first fuel line, and an engine stall in the first engine.

Abstract:
A motor vehicle according to an exemplary aspect of the present disclosure includes, among other things, a conspicuity lamp and a controller configured to illuminate the conspicuity lamp in proportion to a load of the motor vehicle. A method is also disclosed.
Abstract:
An IG-off-timer measures the time t_off from when an engine is stopped, or an ignition is turned off. An ECU sequentially memorizes an estimated temperature of each of heat generating portions as a memorized temperature. Immediately after the engine is re-started, the ECU sets an initial value of the estimated temperature of each heat generating portion in such a manner that the initial value reflects a temperature drop of the heat generating portion in the deactivation period of the engine. The temperature of the heat generating portion is thus accurately estimated even after re-starting of the engine. The heat generating portions are thus appropriately protected.
Abstract:
A process is disclosed for electronically controlling an automatic transmission in which the torque transmission is reduced when the engine throttle setting and vehicle speed are below a threshold. The transmitted torque causes the vehicle to creep slightly, warning the driver that a gear is engaged. The slant and load of the vehicle are taken into account for controlling the drive torque.
Abstract:
An aircraft towing tractor has its acceleration limited to a predetermined limiting acceleration to reduce stresses upon the aircraft undercarriage by a computer-controlled regulator interposed between the gas pedal and the internal combustion engine. The regulator can also provide control of the speed increase of the engine below a predetermined limiting value thereof prior to control of the limiting acceleration.
Abstract:
A system and method for disabling the travel of a vacuum truck is provided in which a vacuum boom initiates an interlock signal when positioned back into a travel cradle. An additional positional tank bed further includes an interlock signal when the bed is in a secured in a travel position. The vacuum truck is prevented from having its brakes released or prevented from being put into a travel gear if either the truck bed or vacuum boom are not in secure travel positions. The present system and method utilize pneumatic operating signals available from the vehicles power take off and blower mode switch.
