Said method comprises the following steps:nullimpingement of at least one heating coil with a heating voltage until the temperature of said coil has been increased;nullimpingement of the heating coil with a starting voltage in order to induce a gas discharge;nullmaintenance of the gas discharge by the application of a maintaining voltage and the disconnection of the heating voltage after the gas discharge has been started; in addition the following steps are preferably executed at any point in the method:nullinterrogation of an identification means that is connected to the UV radiation source andnullif the response to the interrogation is negative, prevention or interruption of the operation,nullif the response to the interrogation is positive, authorization of the operation. The invention also relates to a UV radiation source comprising a base body (20) and at least one connection zone which bears a number of electric connections (24, 25; 26, 27), whereby an identification means (28) that can be interrogated electrically is connected to the base body (20); and to a UV disinfection facility for fluids, in particular for water or waste water, said facility comprising at least one UV radiation source and an electric control and supply circuit that is located at a distance from the radiation source, whereby the control and supply circuit comprises an interrogation means which is suitable for verifying the presence of an identification means which is optionally assigned to the UV radiation source(s).

    摘要: A method and apparatus for producing purified or ozone enriched air to remove contaminants from fluids is accomplished by exposing an air stream from a surrounding area to ozone generating ultra-violet (UV) radiation to generate ozone in a system ozone chamber. The ozone chamber is configured to reduce through-flow velocity and provide time for the ozone to mix with the air and oxidize contaminants. The air stream subsequently enters a germicidal chamber and is exposed to germicidal UV radiation to destroy bacteria and ozone in the air stream resulting in sterilized air. The radiation source may include an end-cap that interfaces guiding mechanisms to align the end-cap for power connections, and/or controls emission of ozone generating radiation to control production of ozone. Further, the system may include an additional germicidal chamber that exposes an air stream to germicidal radiation prior to treatment within the ozone chamber. Moreover, the system may be configured to include a baffling arrangement to control air through-flow velocity, or may be implemented by a cartridge arrangement, whereby a cartridge housing the chambers and radiation sources is periodically replaced. The system may further be configured for installation within a wall or ceiling, or may be utilized to remove contaminants from and/or ozonate liquids. In addition, the air sterilization systems may be utilized within air treatment systems to remove contaminants from an air stream within these systems.

    摘要: This invention is capable of providing a water purifying apparatus with a comparatively simple configuration that can be used easily. First, a usage state is adopted by operating the knob of the faucet. In doing so, the detection means detects the flow of the water. As a result, the control unit supplies electricity to the ultraviolet light generator based on the detection signal form the detection means, and ultraviolet light is emitted. The emitted ultraviolet light then irradiates water within the passage. Water sterilization can then be carried out as a result of doing this. The ultraviolet light generator only generates light when the faucet is in use. It is therefore possible to utilize the ultraviolet light generator for long periods of time and savings are made with respect to power consumption. Further, a curving part is formed in the passage, and the ultraviolet light generator is arranged in the vicinity of the curving part. The time for which the water is irradiated with ultraviolet rays from the ultraviolet light generator is therefore made long, and the water purification efficiency is improved.

The disclosed method includes providing a radiation source such as an ultraviolet (UV) energy source submerged within a volume of standing fluid, such as in a tank or reservoir. The UV energy source is caused to emit a predetermined amount of UV or other radiation on a periodic basis to help purify the fluid. The amount of energy is sufficient to destroy pollutants in the standing fluid at least within a pre-determined distance of the UV energy source. According to one example, radiation energy may be emitted repetitively from a UV lamp for about one hour per each 24 hours repetitively.
