摘要: An apparatus for removing formation sand from an oil storage tank. The apparatus is mounted to a truck towable trailer so that it may be transported to remote sites. Mounted to the truck towable trailer is a container adapted to accept and dewater a sand-water slurry pumped from the oil storage tank. The slurry is formed by injecting high pressure water from a water reservoir mounted to the truck towable trailer into the approximate centre of mass of the formation sand by way of a pipe having a nozzle generating a spherical spray pattern within the slurry. The pipe is forced into the slurry by way of a two counter-rotating drive wheels in frictional contact with the pipe. Included in the apparatus is a bifurcated conduit adapted for attachment to the storage tank drain port adapted for the injection of high pressure through one branch of the conduit and withdrawal of slurry from the other branch and into the container by way of a slurry pump. The dewatering of the slurry takes place by a plurality of screen filters mounted to the bottom, side and front inside walls of the container. Oil and water extracted from the slurry is recycled back into the storage tank for later removal and treatment. All pumps and conduits are mounted to the truck towable trailer so that the apparatus is self-contained.

摘要: A filter for a vehicular sewage system that includes an elongated body having a plurality of longitudinal vanes and slots. The body is made from a material able to support the growth of biological agents. The slots sized to resist the passage of particles larger than about 0.04 inches. The filters are structured for use with a vehicular sewage system having a treatment tank divided into an upper chamber and a lower chamber by a membrane. The membrane has a plurality of filter openings in which the filters are disposed. The filters allow fluid waste and solid particles smaller than about 0.04 inch flow into the lower chamber. Larger particles of solid waste are exposed to air in the upper chamber thereby allowing aerobic biological agents to process the solid waste. In use, the filter allows the liquid portion of wastewater to pass from an upper chamber of the treatment tank into a lower chamber. The solid waste particles are then consumed by an aerobic bacteria in the upper chamber.

摘要: A system and method for treating and removing hydrocarbon and other contaminants in bilge and ballast water, utilizing a multiple progressive process that chemically and electrically treats-and removes contaminants. Wastewater, received by a sump, is transmitted to a holding tank and treated, over a period of time while-influent wastewater continues off loading. The wastewater is pumped to an oil/water separator tank that decants free-floating oil from the wastewater to an oil retention tank. The wastewater then undergoes an electrocoagulation process where emulsions are broken and compounds that further aid treatment are created. The treated water flows to a retention/separation tank where contaminant particles coalesce and separate. Water is decanted and transferred to a clean water holding tank through an ozone injection system and an activated carbon filter. Treated water is recirculated until it exits the system meeting discharge limits for organics and metals allowing release into the environment.

摘要: The present invention concerns a method for treating solid waste with an organic fraction. A slurry (4) of the waste (1) diluted with water (3) is sieved, at least by means of a sieving device (5) which lets pieces through whose dimension in at least one direction, and preferably in at least two standing directions, is situated between 2 and 20 mm, after which, from the slurry (7) which has passed through, a part of the ferrous metals (8) which are present in the waste (1) is removed from said waste by means of magnets, and the slurry (7) is finally dewatered.

摘要: The invention provides a simple, compact water treatment structure that is easily modified to use a plurality of different treatment technologies in a cost-effective manner. The system is a multi-celled tank with access to each cell for the installation of selected treatment technologies. The cells are connected in series, so that each successively improves the condition of the water. Technologies that may be employed by this system include solids settling, oil-water separation, air stripping, carbon adsorption, biological degradation, filtration, and nutrient injection. A large mass of water is retained in a relatively small area to allow high retention times and efficient treatment of the water. Simple and reliable gravity control is used to for water flow through much of the system. A complete water treatment system may be constructed in a single vessel. Treatment technologies may be changed over the life of the system to maintain treatment and cost efficiencies. The invention may be used as a sump for traditional treatment systems for additional treatment capacity. This invention may be buried, installed on a portable device, or mounted above ground with minimal enclosure requirements. Buried installation provides thermal protection, physical protection, easy maintenance access, and saves space. The flexibility of the invention allows a proper initial design and sizing without the need to be too conservative, and maintains high operating efficiency over the life of the system.

摘要: A method and biological cleaning system are provided for cleaning substrate surfaces of oils and/or greases using a biological cleaning system which utilizes a pre-treatment bath and/or post-treatment bath as part of the cleaning system. The pre-treatment and/or post-treatment baths are compatible with the biological cleaning bath and during operation of the system, the used pre-treatment and/or post-treatment baths are recycled to the biological cleaning solution for biodegradation. A system is provided in which none of the pre-treatment, post-treatment or biological cleaning baths need expensive waste disposal. Replenishment pre-treatment and/or post-treatment baths as well as biological cleaning baths are added as needed to the biological cleaning system. Other treatment baths may be added directly to the biological cleaning bath with or without pre-or post-treatment for specific purposes such as a detergent phosphating bath used in the biological cleaning tank to provide a cleaned phosphated part.
