    摘要: In a process for preparing a 2-(fluoronitrobenzene)acetonitrile by reacting a fluoronitrobenzene with an alpha,alpha-disubstituted acetonitrile in an inert solvent and in the presence of a base, the temperature is maintained not higher than about 15.degree. C. to lead to the formation of a 2-(fluoro-2-nitrobenzene)acetonitrile. Preferred reactants are 2-fluoronitrobenzene and 2-chloropropionitrile, which lead to the formation of 2-(3-fluoro-2-nitrobenzene)propionitrile.

    摘要: The invention relates to a process for treating purge gas including carbon dioxide, water vapor, organics and ammonia. In accordance with the invention, the purge gas is scrubbed with water to absorb ammonia and water is added to the scrubbed purge gas in an amount in excess of the amount required to dissolve the maximum amount of ammonium carbonate which can be formed from any ammonia and carbon dioxide present in the purge gas. The purge gas is subsequently cooled to condense the remaining organics and water and to provide a purge gas suitable for venting.

    摘要: Terminated bis(3,4-dicyanophenoxy) alkanes, wherein the alkylene chain is om 2 to 30 carbon atoms in length, is prepared by the reaction of 4-nitrophthalonitrile with a terminated alkane diol at elevated temperatures. A polyphthalocyanine resin is obtained by heating the dicyanophenoxy alkanes neat or with a salt or metal at a temperature from about 180.degree. C. to about 245.degree. C. The polyphthalocyanine resin is useful as a high-temperature structural or composite material which is highly resistant to mechanical stresses and strains.

    摘要: An improved process for the continuous production of N-alkylarylamines by reaction of arylamines with alkanols and/or dialkyl ethers in the gas phase at a temperature of from 180.degree. to 450.degree.C in the presence of carrier substances which contain an oxyacid of phosphorus. The improvement consists in using silicic acid having an internal surface area of from 50 to 500 square meters per gram and a content of from 0.1 to 20% by weight of phosphoric acid and in the continuous supply of phosphoric acid and/or an alkyl phosphate to the catalyst during the reaction. N-alkylarylamines are starting materials for the production of dyes, pesticides, plant protection agents and growth regulators. They are also suitable as additives to mineral oils or to coating compositions and other polymerized systems.
