    摘要: The present invention provides an improved process for producing polyols from polyurethane wastes. The polyols produced by that process are further used to generate polyurethanes. According to the present invention polyurethane wastes are added to a mixture of at least one diol and at least one secondary alkyl amine and reacted at temperatures in the range of 120 to 220° to produce a mixture of polyether alcohols with a dissolved or dispersed mixture of substituted ureas.

    摘要: In a method for recovering pure PVC from pre-disintegrated PVC containing substance mixtures, the substance mixture is soaked in a swelling agent for PVC, is supplied under pressure into an arrangement of at least two sequential hydrocyclones, wherein, in the first hydrocyclone, a heavy fraction of impurities is separated in the sink flow and a light fraction of swelled PVC particles and light impurities and plastic particles are separated in the rising flow, wherein the pre-cleaned light fraction is sorted and the particle fraction comprising the swelled PVC particles and smaller plastic particles is fed to the second hydrocyclone in which the PVC particles are separated in the sink flow. The invention also describes a device for carrying out the method.

    摘要: Disclosed herein is a process for depolymerizing and purifying recyclable PET comprising the steps of: (a) conducting acetolysis on recyclable PET to form terephthalic acid and ethylene glycol diacetate; (b) reacting the terephthalic acid with methanol to form dimethyl terephthalate; and (c) reacting the dimethyl terephthalate with the ethylene glycol diacetate under transesterification and polycondensation conditions to form both a PET product with an unusually low concentration of copolymerized diethylene glycol and methyl acetate. Further disclosed is a process wherein the above process is efficiently combined with a process for producing cellulose acetate. In addition to steps (a)-(c), the combination process additionally comprises the steps of: (d) carbonylating the methyl acetate with carbon monoxide to form acetic anhydride; and (e) acetylating cellulose with the acetic anhydride to form cellulose acetate and acetic acid, with the acetic acid being useful in step (a).

    摘要: A roof sealant composition and method for treating roof constructions is provided in which a roof sealant composition including from about 25 to 60% by weight recycled paint sludge is applied to a roof in a first coating followed by the application of a supportive mesh. A second coating of the sealant composition is applied as a top coat. Upon drying, a composite is formed which exhibits elongation of greater than 300% and a tensile strength of greater than 500 psi and provides resistance to cracking and leaks.

    摘要: Disclosed herein is a process for depolymerizing and purifying contaminated post-consumer polyester. In the process, depolymerization is effected by way of glycolysis in an agitated reactor vessel. The process includes the steps of contacting a contaminated polyester with an amount of a glycol to provide a molar ratio of greater than about 1 to about 5 total glycol units to total dicarboxylic acid units at a temperature between about 150 to about 300° C. and an absolute pressure of about 0.5 to about 3 bars. This reaction is conducted for a time sufficient to produce, in the reactor, an upper layer having a relatively low density contaminant floating on top of a lower layer which includes a relatively high density depolymerized oligomer of the polyester, and separating the upper layer from the lower layer. The layers may be separated by removing the upper layer from the reactor in a first stream and removing said lower layer from the reactor in a second stream.

    摘要: This invention discloses a process for devulcanizing the surface of reclaimed rubber crumb into surface devulcanized reclaimed rubber crumb that is suitable for being recompounded and recured into high performance rubber products, said process comprising the steps of (1) heating the reclaimed rubber crumb to a temperature which is within the range of about 150° C. to about 300° C. under a pressure of at least about 3.4×106 Pascals in the presence of a solvent selected from the group consisting of alcohols and ketones, wherein said solvent has a critical temperature, which is within the range of about 200° C. to about 350° C., to devulcanize the surface of the rubber crumb thereby producing a slurry of the surface devulcanized reclaimed rubber crumb in the solvent, wherein the reclaimed rubber crumb has a particle size which is within the range of about 325 mesh to about 20 mesh, and (2) separating the surface devulcanized reclaimed rubber crumb from the solvent.
