    摘要: Track unit apparatus for high performance rapid transit trains which includes a single tubular support frame supporting guide tracks for the high speed train vehicles as well as guide tracks for additional conveying vehicles. The track units include guide tracks for supporting overhead or suspension high speed train vehicles, which guide tracks are attached at cylindrical steel longitudinal tubular members. These longitudinal members also directly support surface type railroad tracks or roadways for conventional type surface trains. A plurality of such longitudinal tubular members are provided, with a pair of these members being spaced laterally from one another at the upper part of the frame and at least one other of these tubular members being spaced below and intermediate the upper members so as to form a triangle or other polygonal cross-sectional shape in conjunction with tubular lattice members connecting the respective longitudinal tubular members. The railroad or roadway supports are provided above the upper longitudinal tubular members. Intermediate the triangular shape bounded by the tubular members, further guide structure is provided for conveying vehicles so that the space taken up by the support frame is optimally utilized. In addition, the longitudinal tubular members, as well as additional pipelines, also include spaces for accommodating conveyance of materials such as gases, fluids, fluidized solids, and the like.

    摘要: A compact ramp construction includes a series of nestable, telescopically extendable modules which are connected via an intermediate module to a base that detachably anchors one end of the ramp to a loading surface and which storably supports the ramp when the modules are nested. In one embodiment, the intermediate module is slidably connected to a pair of inclined slots on the base which raises the intermediate module to clear an edge of the loading surface as the nested modules are telescopically extended and lowered to another surface. Each one of the nestable modules has a pair of parallel side members that are spaced apart by an attached overlapping cross member. A single lug attached to the free end of each side member slidably engages an uppermost surface of a corresponding side member in an adjacent module and cooperates with the cross member of that module to support a load. In another embodiment, the intermediate module is hingedly connected to the base such that when the modules are nested, the ramp is stored by being pivoted about its hinges to lie folded against the base. Instead of a lug at the free end of each side member, the free ends of a second cross member in each module partly overlie corresponding side members of an adjacent module and cooperate with the first cross member thereof to support the load. All of the cross members provide a series of steps in a plane between loading and unloading surfaces.

    摘要: A low cost, factory fabricated, force distributing bridge truss assembly is disclosed which includes respective, interconnected, converging pairs of carrier truss structures designed to be composited to an overlying concrete bridge deck such that the latter serves as a top chord diaphragm for absorbing live load-induced compression and bending forces. The carrier truss structures are fabricated using only two standard shapes of plasma arc cut steel angles (normally 6".times.6" for truss webs and 8".times.8" for truss chords) welded directly together without the need for special order steel or supplemental gusset plates. The preferred deck for use with the truss assembly hereof is a concrete structure having a lowermost, spanning metallic plate substrate composited (by means of upstanding studs) to a concrete layer thereon. This assembly may be applied to the carrier truss structure in either precast, sectionalized form or field cast in place. The upper chord elements of the respective carrier trusses are simply welded to the planar underlying substrate at the panel points to develop the final mechanical composite. Completed bridges using the carrier truss assemblies of the invention are characterized by very low depth-to-span and dead load/live load ratios, minimal deflections, and high degrees of structural redundancy rendering the bridges extremely stable; moreover they are protected against critical collapse and are highly suited for performance in situations where long term fatigue causing stress reversals are a problem.
