    摘要: In the construction of a large, land-based skirt-supported spherical tank, the tank is partially prefabricated, its bottom polar cup section being produced ready for mounting and stored inside the rest of the spherical shell. In this state, wherein the transportation height of the tank has been substantially reduced, the as yet unfinished spherical tank is transported to the erection site, where the bottom polar cap section is lowered into position and secured to the rest of the spherical shell.

    摘要: Improved method for manufacturing spherical cryogenic liquid holding tanks as well as the tanks produced thereby, wherein at least the major hemispherical portions of such tanks are formed from curvilinear elongated quadralateral plate members which in the case of a given tank each have substantially the same arcuate minor axis dimensional width when measured at the midpoint of the arcuate major axis but varying lengths. These plate members of varying lengths are initially selectively arranged and secured to each other to form a series of substantially symmetrical and uniformly dimensioned, individual, triangular spherical tank sectors or modules. These spherical sectors or modules are subsequently secured to each other such that the longest plate member of a given sector is located adjacent or in close proximity to the tank's equator while the midpoints of the major axes of the various plate members in such a spherical sector are located in substantially parallel relationship to each other and the tank's equator in the finished tank structure.

    摘要: A method of constructing a spherical tank or the like, in which large-sized structural units or blocks of the triangular or the like shape are prefabricated by dividing the spherical surface of the tank along the equatorial line or other latitudinal lines on one hand and a plurality of longitudinal lines on the other hand, so as to provide convenience in mounting and assembling them into a complete spherical tank. Reinforcements are temporarily attached on the large-sized structural unit along the peripheral portion thereof, so that the reinforcements are disposed thereon substantially in the form of a triangle or the analogous shape, and may serve to increase the rigidity of the large-sized structural unit, thereby preventing the same from being subjected to deformation such as distortion.

The rail has a rigid support member enclosed by a sleeve, the sleeve having a groove or channel extending along its longitudinal length and a hollow chamber for receiving the support member therein. The channel is dimensioned to receive a plurality of slats disposed in spaced relation to one another such that when received in the channels of opposed rails a fence section is formed. Various modifications to the basic rail structure permit construction of a privacy or containment fence section that may include a plurality of vertical segments, including for example lattice work.

    摘要: A plurality of annular plates are machined to have substantially identical outer diameters equal to the inner diameter of the head to be made. A first annular plate is arranged as an annular base plate. The other annular plates are cut into four congruent arc portions of less than 90.degree. and braces are attached to each congruent arc portion. A plurality of the arc portions are mounted by a first end to the upper surface of the annular base plate in a substantially equally, circumferentially spaced arrangement. The second end of each arc portion is fastened to the outer surface of a central collar to form the hemispherical frame.
