摘要： A sectional door (2) is disclosed that includes a safety system. The safety system includes a shield apparatus (12), an improved support track (6), reverse angle track shields (80), and hemmed roller track edges (38) to prevent injury or harm to body parts errantly placed within or around the support track (6) during the opening or closing of the sectional door (2). The sectional door (2) includes a plurality of door sections (8) hingedly joined in an edge-to-edge relationship to form the completed sectional door (2). The sectional door (2) further includes support rollers (10) attached to the door sections (8), and a pair of support tracks (6), in which the support rollers (10) are confined. Each support roller (10) further includes a circular or rectangular roller shield (12) that is mounted to the axle (26) of the support roller (10) outside of the support track (6) where it is proximate the support track (6) in such a manner as to limit or prevent any fingers from engaging within the support track (6) with the support roller (10). The dimensions of the protective shield (12) are larger than the support rollers (10) so as to provide transport guidance within the support track (6) where track sections meet. The reverse angle track shields (80) are constructed of a solid metal piece so as to prevent objects from passing between the support track (6) and a mounting surface, with the outside edge being folded into a single hem (138) or covered with a protective material (140). The adjacent edge of the support track (6) is formed into a folded hem (38), either outwardly or inwardly, to prevent fingers from being cut.

The door panels are arranged to be guided by rollers arranged between guide tracks and the door panels for guided movement of said panels along the guide tracks extending along the intended path of movement of the door. The pivot axes of each hinge means is portioned between the side walls of contacting door panels. The hinge means hingedly interconnecting said contacting door panels comprise a convex member forming part of one of said contacting door panels and a concave member forming part of the other one of said contacting door panels. The members extend along the edges of the corresponding contacting door panels with their axes coinciding with pivot axis. The members form a bearing face, and the convex member is a separate component.

摘要： A garage door opener security system, for preventing the unauthorized opening of a garage door, mounted within a dwelling. The garage door opener has a track mounted to the dwelling, and a truck slidably mounted on the track which is operatively engaged with the door. A release lever extends downward from the truck to allow manual release and opening of the garage door. The security system prevents unauthorized operation of the release lever by providing a pair of security plates which extend downward from the truck on either side of the release lever. The security plates thereby prevent an unauthorized person from extending an object into the garage from outside in an attempt at operating the release lever.
