    摘要: The present invention provides a system and method to adjust the quantity of oil delivered to the cylinders of an internal combustion engine of an outboard motor. The system includes an oiling system to distribute oil throughout the internal combustion engine. The oiling system has a pressure sensor connected between an oil injector and the internal combustion engine to sense oil pressure and produce an oil pressure indicative signal to an electronic control unit (ECU). The ECU is configured to monitor the oil pressure indicative signal and modify a modulated oil injection signal delivered to the oil injector.

    摘要: The invention pertains to an internal combustion engine with a crankcase, a crankshaft and a camshaft for controlling at least one intake and exhaust valve, as well as an oil pump for delivering lubricating oil to the crankshaft. Downstream on the outlet side of the oil pump is an oil pressure regulating valve for limiting the oil pressure. The valve gate, which is contacted by a spring element in the closing direction, depending on the amount of oil delivered and/or the oil temperature, the valve gate frees an opening that can be connected with the inlet side of the oil pump. It is suggested that the camshaft be seated in longitudinally displaceable fashion within the crankcase and form the valve gate of the oil pressure control valve. An oil pressure-limiting valve for an internal combustion engine is thus implemented in a simple way.

The system includes a lifter gallery extending through the cylinder block, such that each of the hydraulic lifters are in fluid communication with the lifter gallery. The system also includes a flow restriction element for restricting the flow of the engine oil through at least a portion of the lifter gallery. Specifically, the flow restriction element is configured to be inserted into either a lifter gallery inlet opening or the lifter bores in order to reduce the cross-section of the lifter gallery and restrict the flow of engine oil through the lifter gallery.

The bracketed flange mounting (201, 203, and 205) may couple to an engine crank case or oil pump inlet in the same way as prior assemblies without a bracketed flange mounting, thus no retooling of any other part of the engine is required.

    摘要: A cam drive is provided for a valve control of a mixture-lubricated internal combustion engine that has a cylinder, and a cylinder head in which is disposed a poppet valve which is actuated by a pivotable rocker arm. Mounted in a cam chamber is a control cam that is driven by the crankshaft of the engine and on the cam path of which rests a drag lever that transfers the cam lift to the rocker arm. To achieve a reliable mixture lubrication, a flow guidance element is disposed in the annular chamber between the peripheral wall of the cam chamber and the maximum diameter of the path of a cam nose. The flow guidance element is provided with a flow edge that is disposed adjacent to the drag lever in the vicinity of the path diameter of the cam nose.

    摘要: A crankshaft, and method for distributing lubricant along a crankshaft, are disclosed. The crankshaft includes a crank pin, a crank arm, a main segment, and a flange. The crank arm is coupled between the main segment and the crank pin and has an outer side. A channel extends from within the crank pin to the outer side. The flange has outer and inner edges, is positioned on the main segment so that the outer edge abuts the main segment, and is further positioned so the inner edge abuts the outer side of the crank arm. The flange has first and second grooves along the outer and inner edges of the flange, respectively, and the grooves form a passage extending from the channel to an exterior portion of the main segment, so that lubricant can flow between the exterior portion of the main segment and the channel via the passage.

    摘要: In an oil-lubricated helium compressor unit, the adsorber can retain all of the oil that might be transferred from the compressor to the adsorber before the system shuts down. No oil is ever transferred or transferable to, for example, the expander in a GM type refrigeration system connected to the unit. The compressor itself will shut down because of a protective switch or seize for lack of oil before any oil carries outside the compressor unit. The unit and the connected refrigeration system can run for more than a selected design life before the compressor shuts down because the limit of oil in the adsorber has been reached. The adsorber can retain as much oil as might leave the compressor over the life of the system plus a safety margin of at least 25%. The adsorber need not be serviced or replaced for the life of the system.
