摘要: A heat-activated pump removes waste heat from an electronic chip. An evaporator integrated into the chip packaging receives heat from the chip, converting a working fluid into vapor. Piping from the evaporator to a heat exchanger and back form a fluid circulation system. A pressure-control valve set for a specified electronic operating temperature allows vaporized working fluid to vent into a liquid-piston chamber, where it expands adiabatically, displacing pumped liquid in a pumping stage and expelling it from the chamber through a unidirectional valve to the shared heat exchanger(s). The heat exchanger(s) has a heatsink transferring heat away to a flow of cooler fluid. The pumped liquid returns in a suction cycle to the chamber through another unidirectional valve. An injector valve returns jets of condensed working fluid to the evaporator in successive brief spurts responsive to periodic pressure pulses in the chamber.

摘要: A heat-activated multiphase fluid-operated pump. A hot chamber receptive of externally applied heat converts a working fluid into vapor. A pressure-control valve allows vaporized working fluid to escape the hot chamber only when a target pressure is exceeded. A liquid-piston chamber receives the vaporized working fluid, which expands adiabatically to displace pumped liquid within the liquid-piston chamber in a pump stage, expelling it through an exit port having a unidirectional check valve. A condenser receives the displaced liquid and allowing it in a suction stage to return to the liquid-piston chamber through another unidirectional check valve. An injector valve coupled between the liquid-piston chamber and the hot chamber facilitates jets of condensed working fluid to replenish the hot chamber in successive brief spurts responsive to periodic pressure pulses in the liquid-piston chamber that temporarily exceed the pressure in the hot chamber.

摘要: A system and method for degassing a cavitation fluid is provided. The cavitation system of the invention includes a cavitation chamber with one or more cavitation drivers and a degassing system coupled to the chamber. One or more heaters, such as resistive heaters, are coupled to an external surface of the cavitation chamber such that heat from the heaters is transmitted through the wall of the cavitation chamber and into localized regions of the cavitation fluid contained within the cavitation chamber. The heater or heaters increase the temperature of the localized regions of the cavitation fluid to a temperature above the boiling temperature of the cavitation fluid, thereby creating vapor bubbles which capture gas trapped within the cavitation fluid through a rectified diffusion process. A cavitation fluid cooler can be used to insure that the average temperature of the cavitation fluid is below that of the boiling temperature.

The bubbles forming portion includes a heating portion for receiving heat supplied from outside, a liquid cavity formed in the heating portion having a cross-sectrion which is reduced along the longitudinal axis of the heating portion, and a vapor-liquid exchange chamber communicated with the liquid cavity and having a volume greater than the volume of a bubble extruded from the liquid cavity. In this heat-driven pump, a bubble is generated and expanded in the liquid cavity by heat received by the heating portion, a discharge of liquid is carried out by the expansion of the bubble, an introduction of new liquid into the liquid cavity is carried out by extrusion of the bubble into the vapor-liquid exchange chamber, and elimination of the bubble is carried out by a cooling of the heating portion, and accordingly, a successive pumping of liquid is carried out.

摘要: In this solar steam driven water pump steam is periodically generated and then condensed within a cavity to produce first a period of pressure over a column of water and then a period of vacuum to thereby first expell water from the cavity through one check valve and to subsequently fill the cavity with water through another check valve at the time of the vacuum, the generation of said steam pressure within said cavity being effected by a separate small pump within the cavity when this pump moves a small quantity of water in the cavity to a solar heated chamber in the cavity and the subsequent effecting of the vacuum within said cavity being accomplished when the water pumping chamber is cooled by condensation of the steam on the column of water against which it is acting, the periodic cessation of the small pump causing steam generation to cease when thermostats contacted by hot steam as water is expelled from the water chamber open a circuit stopping the small pump.

摘要: A liquid pump for circulating working fluid (water) in a Rankine cycle comprises a U-shaped fluid vessel having a bending pipe portion and a pair of straight pipe portions, wherein a heating device and a cooling device are provided at one of the straight pipe portions for heating and cooling the water in the fluid vessel. The liquid pump further has a discharge pipe portion and an inlet pipe portion, and check valves are respectively provided in the discharge and inlet pipe portions. The water is vaporized by a heating operation of the heating device to increase pressure of the working fluid in the pump, so that the working fluid is discharged. The vaporized working fluid is then cooled down by the cooling device to decrease the pressure of the working fluid in the pump, so that the working fluid is sucked into the pump.

摘要: A vapor pressure pump for delivering a liquid into a system operating at a higher pressure or located at a higher level by action of a vapor pressure produced from a portion of the liquid to be delivered. The pump comprises a closed reservoir for liquid, which includes an unidirectional liquid inlet, an unidirectional liquid outlet, a vapor exhaust valve adapted to balance the pressure between the unidirectional liquid inlet and the reservoir during its filling. The pump also comprises a vapor generator for producing vapor inside the reservoir at a pressure sufficient to force out the liquid contained therein through the liquid outlet, and a control device for operating the vapor generator only when the liquid fed by the liquid inlet has reached a predetermined level in the reservoir. According to the invention, the vapor generator comprises an evaporation chamber in vapor communication with the closed reservoir, and a device responsive to the control device for sampling a portion of the liquid contained in the reservoir when the liquid in the reservoir has reached the predetermined value, and for supplying the sampled liquid into the evaporation chamber. The vapor generator also comprises a heating system for evaporating the sampled liquid supplied into the evaporation chamber to produce the pressure vapor required to force the liquid out of the reservoir.
