The top portion (110) includes three coils that are vertically stacked on top of each other to have a straight cylindrical shape in a side-view of the top portion (110). The three coils connect together such that no gap exists between the three coils in the side-view. The top portion (110) includes a top coil (115) that extends one and one-half turns along a flat plane as seen from a top-view of the top portion (110). The bottom portion (120) includes multiple coils that form a truncated-cone shape in the side-view and that in a compressed state extends one and one-half turns along a flat plane as seen from a bottom-view of the bottom portion (120).

The hourglass configurations of the coils, wherein at least one helical convolution of the coil body located between the coil ends has a diameter which is less than every other convolution of the coil body, provides a mattress core which has a relatively lower spring rate upon initial compression and a higher spring rate at higher compression loads.

    摘要: A conical spring is a universal spring that comprises a load applying component, formed to have an appropriate geometrical configuration with interfacing surface symmetrical to a predetermined axis, and a load absorbing component, being able to vary dimension radially when a load is applied and formed to have a surface matching to the interfacing surface of the load applying component, thereby the interfacing surface of the load applying component and the matching surface of the load absorbing component are to contact with each other when a load is applied axially between the load applying component and the load absorbing component to have the radial dimension of the load absorbing component vary thereof to absorb the energy generated by the axial load and to generate an axial force reacting to the applied load. Frictionless or low friction media can be added to the contacting surface to achieve low friction purpose.

    摘要: An arrangement for producing double conical springs from heated rod-shaped material, in which one side of a conical-shaped spring is formed with a cylindrical end corresponding to the largest winding diameter. The end is then shaped to a conical form. After being transferred from a spring winding station to an end roll-in unit, the spring is clamped, and a shaping member is inserted radially into the spring, and moved against a stop. With the aid of a roll-in head, the cylindrical spring end is conically formed. After the shaping member is radially removed from the spring, the latter is released and transported to a hardening process.

    摘要: A tip seal back-up member is disclosed for use in fluid apparatus of the scroll type, which member comprises a strip of material extending longitudinally in generally spiroidal configuration about a reference axis and having a preformed configuration such that its radially inner and outer edge portions are disposed axially with respect to each other. The strip of material comprises an elastic material such that as one of the edge portions is displaced axially toward the other, an opposing spring force is developed. In operation, the back-up member is disposed within a groove located in a tip surface of a wrap element in fluid apparatus of the scroll type, between a bottom wall of the groove and a tip seal. Preferably, the strip of material is generally flat between its radially inner and outer edge portions and is constructed from steel.

The low-pressure damper has a damper volume. The damper capsule has a gas volume enclosed between two membranes.
