Abstract: A shift gearbox, a control unit, and at least one electric motor-driven driven piston-cylinder unit with a piston, which delimits at least one working chamber, which is connected via hydraulic lines to multiple shift gearbox units of the shift gearbox and shifts these, wherein the shift gearbox units comprise at least one gear selector unit and at least one clutch units, characterised in that the control unit for shifting at least one of the shift gearbox units rotates the electric motor drive by a predetermined angle and the piston of the piston-cylinder unit is adjusted by a predetermined path (Δs) (path control) and the piston thereby conveys a required hydraulic volume to or from at least one shift gearbox unit.

Abstract: A clutch-to-clutch transmission monitoring system for an automobile vehicle includes a control software generating a control signal. A monitor is in communication with the control software. A pre-compute monitor is in communication with the control software. The pre-compute monitor also receives the input data and outputs an operating threshold signal to the control software. The operating threshold signal defines allowed operating bounds for at least one component in communication with the monitor. A post-compute monitor is in communication with both the control software and the pre-compute monitor. The post-compute monitor receives both the control signal and the operating threshold signal. The post-compute monitor compares the control signal to the operating threshold signal to identify if the control signal violates the allowed operating bounds defined by the pre-compute monitor.

Abstract: A shift control method for a DCT vehicle, which adjusts a time required to shift gears through clutch control in a DCT. The shift control method includes controlling a release-side clutch such that the release-side clutch is partially disengaged by a controller when gear shifting is initiated in a state in which an accelerator pedal is not pressed, performing synchronization control by partially applying an apply-side clutch torque in an initial stage of synchronization such that an engine rotational speed follows and synchronizes an apply-side input shaft speed, and partially applying a release-side clutch torque in a last stage of synchronization by the controller, and performing torque hand-over control such that an apply-side clutch is engaged while the release-side clutch is disengaged by the controller, after performing the synchronization control.

Abstract: Methods and systems are provided for controlling clutch capacity in a hybrid electric vehicle. In one example, a method includes adjusting values of a transfer function of a clutch of a dual clutch transmission in response to an operating condition of an engine and/or operating condition of an integrated starter/generator coupled to the engine while a vehicle is propelled via an electric machine coupled to the dual clutch transmission, and maintaining a driver demand wheel torque at vehicle wheels via adjusting torque of the electric machine in response to the operating condition of the engine and/or operating condition of the integrated starter generator. In this way the method may apply pressure to one of the clutches where engine speed is independently controlled to maintain positive or negative slip, thus enabling adaptation of positive and negative clutch transfer functions, which may improve driveline operation and shift quality.

Abstract: A drive force transmission device provided in a vehicle includes a rotating shaft, a gear chamber, a first clutch chamber, a hydraulic oil supplier, an oil reservoir, and an oil temperature sensor. The rotating shaft extends in an axial direction and is rotatable around the axial direction to transmit a drive force to left and right drive wheels of the vehicle. The gear chamber houses a gear via which the drive force is to be transmitted to the rotating shaft. The drive force transmission device has a first side and a second side opposite to the first side with respect to the gear chamber in the axial direction. The first clutch chamber is disposed on the first side and houses a clutch that is to distribute the drive force transmitted from the rotating shaft to the left or right drive wheels.

Abstract: An automatic transmission system includes a housing containing automatic transmission fluid (ATF), a plurality of clutches configured to be engaged to generate gear ratios corresponding to forward speeds of the automatic transmission, wherein one clutch of the plurality of clutches is a friction clutch movable between a disengaged state, an engaged state utilized to create one or more gear ratios of the automatic transmission, and a slippingly engaged state between the disengaged state and the engaged state where the friction clutch is not engaged to create a gear ratio of the automatic transmission, and a controller configured to selectively move the friction clutch to the slippingly engaged state when the friction clutch is not being utilized to generate the one or more gear ratios, such that the friction clutch generates heat from friction to thereby rapidly heat the ATF in the housing and improve operating efficiency of the transmission.

Abstract: A hydraulic system for a vehicle clutch assembly can include a pump and a purge valve for regulating hydraulic pressure supplied to the clutch. The hydraulic pressure at the pump can be set to a value higher than the operating pressure for the clutch. The purge valve can be configured to purge hydraulic pressure from the hydraulic system so that an optimum, controllable, and/or pre-determined operating pressure can be supplied to the clutch. The system can be configured to provide accurate control of the clutch(es), continuous cooling capacity to the hydraulic system components, lateral torque control when two separate hydraulic circuits are used, weight and cost reduction of the vehicle clutch, as well as other vehicle functions and characteristics.
