摘要: A solar photovoltaic (PV) water heating system includes a tank including at least a first heating unit having at least first and second heating elements, at least one of which is switchable; a PV solar collector; an inverter adapted to convert the output from the PV collector to an alternating power supply; a modulator to modulate the alternating power supply from the inverter; a controller adapted to control the modulator and the switching of the or each switchable heating element; wherein the controller is adapted to control the modulator and the switchable heating elements to maximize the energy drawn from the PV collector.

摘要: A method of operating a tankless water heater for heating a continuous supply of water. The method includes detecting a water flow condition within a heating chamber of the tankless water heater and regulating electrical current to first and second heating elements in response thereto. Both the first and second heating elements are located in the heating chamber, and respectively have first and second wattages, where second wattage is different than the first wattage. The regulating step further includes providing electrical current to the first heating element and not to the second heating element when a first flow condition is detected, and providing electrical current to the second heating element and not the first heating element when a second flow condition is detected, and providing electrical current to both of the heating elements when a third flow condition is detected.

摘要: A water heating system is described. The water heating system comprises a vessel for holding water and for receiving heat from one or more heat sources for heating water in the vessel. The water heating system comprises a sensor comprising a plurality of temperature sensing elements for sensing a distribution of temperatures in the vessel. The water heating system comprises a connector for connecting the sensor to a retrofittable tank controller. The water heating system is configured to provide one or more characteristics of the water heating system to a retrofittable tank controller such that a retrofittable tank controller connected to the sensor and in receipt of the characteristics of the water heating system can determine from the distribution of temperatures in the vessel a quantity of useable heat stored in the vessel. A retrofittable tank controller for controlling a water heating system is also described. A sensor for measuring a temperature distribution of fluid within a vessel is also described.

摘要: System and methods of operating a water heater receiving power from an electrical grid. The water heater includes a heating element, a controller, and a first control circuit. The first control circuit including an energizing terminal and a microprocessor. The method includes connecting an energizing terminal of the first control circuit between a power output terminal of the controller and the heating element, receiving driving power from the controller based on a temperature signal. The method also includes receiving a control signal from the controller based on electrical grid information, and selectively energizing the heating element, by the microprocessor of the first control circuit and through the energizing terminal of the first control circuit based on the control signal.

摘要: A liquid heater is described including a chamber for receiving a liquid, pairs of electrodes located within the chamber for applying electric current to the liquid, input terminals for connection to a power supply, a plurality of switches for connecting the pairs of electrodes to the input terminals, and a control unit for controlling the switches. The switches have a plurality of different states for selectively connecting pairs of electrodes to the input terminals in one of a plurality of electrode configurations, the electrodes having a different total electrical resistance in each electrode configuration. When switching between a first electrode configuration and a second electrode configuration having a second lower total electrical resistance, the control unit controls the switches such that switching between the electrode configurations occurs in response to zero-crossings in a voltage of the power supply or the electrodes of the second electrode configuration are energised with a voltage having a higher duty than the electrodes of the first electrode configuration.

The termination assembly includes a plurality of connectors configured to connect the power pins to the electrically nonconductive members. Each electrically nonconductive member includes a number of the plurality of connectors corresponding to a number of power pins being terminated. The termination assembly includes an electrical circuit embedded in or disposed on at least one of the plurality of electrically nonconductive members.

摘要: Provided is an instant water heater. The instant water heater includes a housing, a water inlet pipe, a water outlet pipe, a mounting member, and an electric controller. The housing has a heating container inside. The heating container includes a cap and a water tank detachably connected to the cap. A heating pipe is disposed within the water tank. The water inlet pipe is in communication with a first side of the cap. The water outlet pipe is in communication with a second side of the cap. The water inlet pipe and the water outlet pipe are connected to two sides of the housing, respectively. The mounting member is configured for securing the water tank to the housing. The electric controller is configured for controlling the heating pipe. By providing stability of the heating container, the provided instant water heater can optimize distribution and installation of components.
