    摘要: A pressure alarm for sewage treatment systems such as waste-water or sewage treatment tanks which require water level control. In a preferred embodiment the pressure alarm includes a pressure sensing apparatus which includes a tee or elbow located in a tank or system aerator air line, a nipple set into the tee leg of the tee or the elbow and a ball float fitted with a shaft or neck extending through the nipple and receiving an air deflector. According to the method of this invention, the air deflector projects into the run of the tee or the elbow responsive to floating of the ball float upwardly in a high water condition in the treatment tank or system. Extension of the air deflector into the run of the tee or the elbow causes a pressure drop through the tee or elbow as air is deflected from the run of the tee through the tee leg or elbow. A control system including a pressure-sensitive switch, is provided, typically on a conventional compressor or blower for sensing this pressure drop and sounding an audible and/or a visual alarm.

    摘要: A fill gauge is provided which may be used in connection with a storage container to inform an operator of the relative status of a filling operation. A multiplicity of indicia are progressively displayed to provide an initial warning when the filling operation is nearly completed, and to signal when the filling should be terminated, such as when a desired air-gap has been established. Further indicia may also be provided relating to, for example, an overfilled condition. The fill gauge is reusable and inexpensive, and may be sealed for safe storage. Adjustments for use with fluids of differing density are possible.

The stem is limited in its upward travel to a height less than the height of the battery cables and the float is adapted to be adjusted in length to accomodate different size batteries. A guide disc is provided in the cap which limits the upward travel of the indicator and also acts as a splash guard.

A float is connected to the lower end of the gauge rod for floating movement vertically in the test hole to move the scale strip relative to the reference marker which is stationary on the guide rod.

The system includes sensors designed to indicate sealed engagement of the flange on the line from the storage tanks with the matching flange on the tank truck or transport trailer.

    摘要: A gauge designed to detect and give visual indication of the presence of free water at a predetermined depth in the ground. The gauge has a tubular housing in which is confined a spherical float with an attached float stem. The housing is a rigid tube enclosed at top and bottom by friction fitting caps, the bottom cap being distinguished by an upstanding flange which fits the tube tightly at its lower end and then diverges from the tube wall to form a gutter at the base of that wall. The spherical float is freely movable within the tube and the float stem extends upwardly from the float and through a guide hole at the center of the top cap. A rain cap is attached to the top of the stem and is sized to cover the space between the stem and guide hole to keep water from overhead sprinklers out of the housing. The gauge is buried upright for use, with its top end exposed. When water is applied to the soil adjacent the gauge, the water soaks down into the ground until it reaches the gutter at the base of the tubular housing, and then flows into the gutter. The tubular wall of the housing has a number of holes near the bottom through which the water entering the gutter flows to form a rising column in the housing. This column carries the float upwardly, causing the stem to rise and signal water penetration of the soil to the depth of the gauge.

    摘要: A funnel having a fill-indicator as an integral part thereof. The funnel has a tapered body portion with a spout projecting downwardly from the narrow or small end thereof. A tubular member is aligned within the spout and extends into the body portion. The lowermost termination of the tubular member is at a location within the lower half of the length of the spout but is preferably spaced in recess fashion from the lowermost end of the spout. The uppermost termination of the tubular member is at a location within the upper half of the body portion without extending beyond the wide mouth opening thereof. A filter screen is fixed transversely within the tapered body portion to the interior surface of that portion and to the exterior surface of the tubular member; and this filter screen is the sole support means extending between the tubular member and tapered body portion of the funnel. A rod is aligned within the tubular member and has a float fixed to its lower end and a visual level indicator fixed to its upper end. A guide member for longitudinal aligned movement of the rod within the tubular member is located within the tubular member at a position proximate to the small end or throat end of the tapered body portion. A minimum of structural elements are employed, with plural functions performed by most of the elements especially those forming the fillindicator mechanism and those supporting or fixing it as an integral part of the funnel.
