    摘要: There is provided mechanisms for estimating angle of arrival of a radio signal in a radio communications network. A method is performed by a receiving radio transceiver device. The method comprises obtaining measurements of the radio signal as received in two receive beams covering a given angular sector. The two receive beams are created by analog beamforming in an antenna array. The receive beams have different complex beam patterns and at any angle within the given angular sector at most one of the complex beam patterns has gain below a threshold. The method comprises estimating the angle of arrival of the radio signal by comparing a complex amplitude of the measurements in the two receive beams to a discriminator function.

    摘要: An anticipated direction to a signal source is determined by a communication device having an antenna. The communication device receives video images in a field of view of a camera and determines, using sensors of the communication device, an antenna direction. The antenna direction is the direction that the antenna of the communication device is pointing. The communication device displays, using a display screen, the video images, an antenna direction indicator, and a guiding icon. The antenna direction indicator indicates the antenna direction relative to the field of view of the camera, and the guiding icon represents a direction offset from the anticipated direction. An energy value of a signal received from the signals source is determined by the communication device using the antenna, and a position of the guiding icon on the display screen is updated based on the anticipated direction.

    摘要: An electronic device is disclosed. The electronic device comprises an antenna module, a direction detecting module and a signal processing module. The antenna module is provided for communicating with a wireless communication device. The direction detecting module is provided for detecting strength of N wireless signals that the antenna module received from a first offset angle to N-th offset angle with respect to the wireless communication device to determine a directivity of the wireless communication device, in which N is a positive integer larger than 1. The signal processing module is provided for comparing the offset angles corresponding to the strength of the N wireless signals at the directivity of the wireless communication device with a look-up table for obtaining an angle of the wireless communication device with respect to the electronic device.

    摘要: The invention relates to a method for determining whether a target is within a direction sector of interest of a direction finder, which comprises: (a) predefining said sector of interest as a specific threshold difference between an R reference value and an N null value; (b) providing at least two antennas arranged in a broad-side configuration within the direction finder; (c) generating an in-phase reference pattern using at least one of said antennas, and establishing wireless communication between the direction finder and said target; (d) attenuating the wireless communication signal between the direction finder and said target until the wireless communication is lost, and recording the attenuation value which corresponds to said loss of wireless communication as the R reference value; (e) generating an out-of-phase null pattern using at least two of said antennas, and re-establishing wireless communication between the direction finder and said target; (f) attenuating the wireless communication signal between the direction finder and said target until the wireless communication is lost, and recording the attenuation value which corresponds to said loss of wireless communication as the N null value; (g) determining whether the difference R−N is above or below said threshold difference, wherein a difference R−N above said threshold is an indication that the target is within said direction sector of interest, and wherein a difference R−N below said threshold is an indication that the target is out of said direction sector of interest. The invention also relates to a device for carrying out said method.
