    摘要: An electro-optic element includes a first substrate defining first and second surfaces and a second substrate defining third and fourth surfaces. A first electrically conductive layer is disposed on the second surface and a second electrically conductive layer is disposed on the third surface. An electrochromic medium is disposed in a cavity between the first and second substrates, the electrochromic medium including an anodic component and a cathodic component. At least the anodic component is configured to reversibly attenuate transmittance of light having a wavelength within a predetermined wavelength range when in an electrochemically activated state. The anodic component includes a substituted ketal phenazine compound.

The electrochromic medium includes at least one solvent and/or an electrolyte gel, at least one cathodic material, and at least one anodic material. The cathodic material can be a cathodic organic framework electroactive material and/or the anodic material can be an anodic organic framework electroactive material. At least one of the anodic and cathodic organic framework electroactive materials is electrochromic.

    摘要: Conventional electrochromic devices frequently suffer from poor reliability and poor performance. Improvements are made using entirely solid and inorganic materials. Electrochromic devices are fabricated by forming an ion conducting electronically-insulating interfacial region that serves as an IC layer. In some methods, the interfacial region is formed after formation of an electrochromic and a counter electrode layer. The interfacial region contains an ion conducting electronically-insulating material along with components of the electrochromic and/or the counter electrode layer. Materials and microstructure of the electrochromic devices provide improvements in performance and reliability over conventional devices.

    摘要: A system and method for color correction in an electrochromic device includes applying a stepped voltage profile to the electrochromic device in a high-transmission state to achieve a desired low-transmission state. Each step of the stepped voltage profile is at a step difference of about 0.01 volts to about 0.5 volts from an adjacent step with each successive step being at a varying voltage level and each of the steps is held for a time period from about 0.1 seconds to about 10 seconds. At the desired low-transmission state, the system and method include applying a reverse bias voltage from about 0.01 volts to about 0.5 volts for about 0.01 seconds to about 10 seconds to color correct the low-transmission state.

    摘要: The disclosure provides for an electrochromic element comprising a first substrate and a second substrate. The first substrate comprises a first surface and a second surface. The second substrate comprises a third surface and a fourth surface. The first substrate and the second substrate form a cavity have an electrochromic medium disposed therein. A dielectric coating is disposed on the fourth surface and is configured to provide for improved transmittance of the electrochromic element in the near infrared (NIR) range, wherein the near infrared transmittance exceeds the visible transmittance.
