    摘要: A plate-making apparatus equipped with an optical system and a light-light transforming device comprising a photoconductive layer and a light-modulation layer which are in confronting relation to each other and which are interposed between a pair of electrodes. The optical system supplies optical information to the photoconductive layer, and the pair of electrodes are for generating an electric field therebetween to be applied to the photosensitive layer and the light-modulation layer. Also included in the apparatus for emitting light having a predetermined wavelength, the light being led to the light-modulation layer to generate reflection light therefrom which is modulated in correspondance with the optical information supplied from the optical system to the photoconductive layer. The reflection light is arranged so as to illuminate a photosensitive resin layer, which is in turn denatured or hardened in response to the illumination so as to produce a print plate.

    摘要: A photoimageable printing assembly comprises:(a) an electroconductive support, and(b) a dual layer photosensitive construction comprising(1) a photoresist lower layer sensitive to radiation in the wavelength range of 250 to 450 nm, the photoresist being soluble or dispersible in an aqueous solvent only, in either the exposed or unexposed areas and(2) a photoconductive upper layer comprising zinc oxide in a water-soluble or water-dispersible binder, the layer being sensitive to radiation above 250 nm, and the layer being dispersible in an aqueous solvent.The assembly can be useful for making printing plates and printed circuits.

    摘要: A non-silver, charge-sensitive recording composite element having an ohmic resistivity of at least about 1.times.10.sup.10 ohm-cm comprising (a) a first electrically conducting layer in association with (b) a photoconductor layer, (c) a non-silver, electrically activated recording layer comprising an image-forming combination of (i) a certain tellurium (II) coordination complex with (ii) a reducing agent, and a binder and (d) a second electrical conducting layer can provide a non-silver image having a density equal to silver images. Silica, especially colloidal silica, is also very useful in the recording layer. The recording element can be room light handleable and can provide a developed image by dry development processes.

    摘要: An imaging system wherein an imaging member comprises a layer of a homeotropically aligned nematic liquid crystalline material which is optically uniaxial residing on a photoconductive insulating layer. When the liquid crystal layer is subjected to an electrostatic charge and the photoconductive insulating layer is exposed to an imagewise pattern of activating electromagnetic radiation, the liquid crystalline material is subjected in selective areas to an electrical field which has components both in the plane of the layer and normal to the plane of the layer thereby inducing optical biaxiality in those areas of the imaging material. In a preferred embodiment of the invention a layer of a suitable overcoating material is arranged over the liquid crystal layer.
