摘要: The present disclosure relates to atomizers for an aerosol delivery device such as a smoking article. The atomizer may include a liquid transport element and a wire extending along at least a portion of a longitudinal length thereof. The wire may define contact portions configured to engage heater terminals and a heating portion configured to produce heat. The heating portion may include a variable coil spacing. In other atomizers, the wire may extend at least partially through the liquid transport element proximate the contact portions. Related inputs, cartridges, aerosol production assemblies, and methods of forming atomizers are also provided.

摘要: A co-wound resistor with a low parasitic inductance includes a first resistive strip having an input and a second resistive strip having an output. The second resistive strip has a similar shape as the first resistive strip. The second resistive strip is co-wound in a same direction as the first resistive strip. The second resistive strip and the first resistive strip are configured to generate a mutual inductance that cancels an inductance of the first resistive strip and the second resistive strip. The first interconnect coupling the first resistive strip to the second resistive strip. The first resistive strip, the second resistive strip and the first interconnect are on a same level.

摘要: A single or multiple cutters are pressed against end surfaces of a resistive element so as to form a plurality of notches in rims of the end surfaces. At this time, notches are formed such that notch depth at the end surfaces of the resistive element toward the axis center is smaller than notch length from the end surfaces of the resistive element to the axis. This allows easy cutting and removal of the resistance wire at the resistive element ends of a coil resistor, etc., and prevention of fraying of a wound wire at the resistive element ends.

摘要: An apparatus for winding a heating wire on a core for forming the inner periphery of an electric melt-bonding joint which comprises a core in a generally cylindrical shape which is capable of rotating around its axial center, the core being relatively moved in the axial direction with respect to a heating wire, an engaging piece mounted on the core, which has a holding portion for holding a heating wire, and a fixing means to fix a terminal pin to the leading end of the heating wire, wherein the engaging piece has a holding portion for holding the terminal pin, whereby the heating wire is wound on an outer peripheral portion of the core by rotating the core.

摘要: An apparatus and method for use in the attachment of a length of resistive wire under a preselected tension to wire-supporting end portions of a pair of generally parallel, resilient posts attached to a post support member. The apparatus includes a spindle for rotatably supporting a spool containing a substantially continuous supply of the resistive wire from which the length of resistive wire to be attached to the resilient posts is obtained; a brake for applying a rotational drag on the spool at least as great as the preselected tension; a gravity-actuated tension arm for applying the tension to a portion of the continuous resistive wire extending from the spool, the arm engaging the extending portion of continuous resistive wire and being supported for pivotal motion in a substantially vertical plane, the arm having an adjustable counterbalance weight for adjusting the tension applied to the preselected tension; a retainer for releasably holding the post support member to position the pair of resilient posts in a desired location and planar orientation for attachment of the length of resistive wire, the retainer including a wire index for positioning of the length of resistive wire substantially transverse to the resilient posts, and further including a lockably adjustable holder for holding the support member and selective longitudinal positioning of the wire-supporting end portions relative to the length of resistive wire; a pair of releasable wire clamps, one of the clamps being positioned to the outside of each of the posts for selectively clamping the extending portion of the continuous resistive wire; a wire guide for positioning of the length of resistive wire in substantially coplanar relation to the resilient posts; and a tension gauge for measuring the tension on the extending portion of the continuous resistive wire.

摘要: A device for manufacturing resistors from insulated wire comprises a mechanism for taking up a wire unwound from a resistor being manufactured, the resistor being installed in a securing mechanism. Current output and input electrodes provide resistive and capacitive coupling between the unwound wire, a measuring circuit and a harmonic generator. An emitter follower is connected via its potential input to the electric contact element of the securing mechanism and via its output to the potential input of a phase-inverting amplifier whose output is loaded into a clamping amplifier. A precision voltage divider has one of its poles connected through a reference resistor to the electric contact element of the takeup mechanism. A common tap of the precision divider and the electric contact element are connected to a phase-sensitive indicator through a differential amplifier having a high-resistance input, the reference-signal inputs of said phase-sensitive indicator being coupled to the outputs of the clamping amplifier, while the output thereof is connected through a control unit to the drive kinematically coupled to the wire takeup mechanism.

The support structure includes three insulating assemblies each having a plurality of insulators secured by longitudinal compression springs to a support bar. The support structure also includes a pair of spreaders located at opposite ends of the helix, each having three radially extending arms. Assembly of the resistor includes the steps of inserting the insulating assemblies into the interior of the helix, radially spreading the insulating assemblies against the interior of the helix, and welding the ends of the support bars to the extending arms of the spreaders.

摘要: A method and apparatus for making potentioneter windings whereby the potentiometer wire is wound on an insulated mandrel and thereafter a mixture of adhesive and solvent is sprayed over the wound mandrel from one side of the mandrel. By controlling the spray, the adhesive may be limited to approximately 180* of the mandrel periphery, thereby securing the potentiometer wire to the mandrel over approximately half the mandrel area while leaving clean and uncovered the areas of the mandrel which will become the wiper track and the areas in which end connections and taps will be attached. The spraying process may be accomplished as a separate operation after winding the potentiometer wire on the mandrel, or as a continuous process by an addition of the apparatus of the invention to a suitable winding machine. The apparatus of the invention adapts a conventional artists air brush for use as a sprayer and provides all adjustments and controls necessary to achieve the desired result.
