摘要： A method and apparatus for decoding sub-picture data and MPEG video data in an A/V decoder of a DVD player. The method prevents mismatches between sub-picture data and MPEG video data during a fast replay mode by synchronizing a decoding operation of the MPEG video data with a decoding operation of the sub-picture data. The method includes the steps of updating a system clock reference value with a presentation time stamp value during decoding of video data, extracting a display control sequence from a searched sub-picture unit, comparing a command executing start time in the display control sequence with the system clock reference value, and skipping the current display control sequence if the updated system clock reference value is greater than the command executing start time, otherwise, waiting until the updated system clock reference value is equal to the command executing start time and then executing the display control sequence in the searched sub-picture unit.

Typically one writing action and a plurality of readings actions are used in one read/write cycle of either a fixed duration or of a variable duration. The invention provides for reading and writing of edited files and re-ordering of read actions in a read/write cycle.

摘要： Optical discs formatted to record plural audio streams of different content for reproduction with a single video stream can result in audio output of content unexpected by the user depending upon the audio stream configuration contained in the AV stream reproduced. This can confuse and cause the user to change the audio output after reproduction starts. To prevent this, information indicating the type of audio stream configuration contained in each AV stream on the optical disc is stored with each audio stream. This audio stream type information is presented to the user on the same screen from which an AV program is selected for playback. The user can thus know before playback starts what audio stream channel is preselected for playback, and can change the audio channel as desired before playback starts.

摘要： This invention relates to a data recording and reproduction apparatus, and a method and a system for sending out data for preparing a log file of material codes and a sending time. The video server comprises a storage means utilizing a randomly accessible storage media, and a server controller for controlling the storage means and multiple input and output ports connected to the storage means. The input port includes a multiplexer for inserting the material code to identify video source onto compressed video signals derived from video signals fed to the input ports. Video signals with their material codes superimposed thereon are recorded as video sources on the storage means. A material code is extracted from any video signal that is reproduced, and a log file of the sending data (sending time and data including material code relating to the sent-out material) is generated.
