摘要: A process for the preparation of a granulated or pelletized weak anion exchange medium from a phenol-containing organic material like peat, followed by low-temperature torrefaction of the granules to produce a high degree of physical stability of the granules at high-pH conditions, followed by chemical pretreatment of the stable granule via a hydrolysis reaction, and optionally surface treatment with acids, followed by the main chemical treatment of the hydrolyzed granule via separate aldehyde and amine reagents, or alternatively via an adduct reagent like hexamethylenetetramine is provided by this invention. The weak anion exchange medium of this invention can be used in a variety of aqueous solution treatment processes, such as wastewater treatment for removing mineral acids like H2SO4, HNO3, HCl, HBr, HF, H3PO4, HI, or formic acid from the wastewater. The resulting anion exchanger medium is particularly useful for treating wastewaters in a low-pH environment.

摘要: A device for producing dry ice pellets comprises a pressing cylinder, into which an inlet opening for feeding liquid carbon dioxide leads and which is equipped with a die, which has one or more openings, and with a piston, which is longitudinally movable in the pressing cylinder. Liquid carbon dioxide is fed to the pressing cylinder, is expanded at the inlet opening, is at least partially converted into carbon dioxide snow and is pressed against and through the die by the movement of the piston. The die is in the form of a cylindrical body that can be connected to the pressing cylinder and is equipped with feed-throughs, which are oriented parallel to a longitudinal axis of the die and are dimensioned in such a way that the length and the diameters of the feed-throughs correspond to the length and the diameters of the dry ice pellets to be produced.

摘要: The invention relates to a novel solid form of diphenol compound. A process for the preparation of diphenol prills having a spherical shape is disclosed. Said process comprising providing a molten composition comprising from 50 to 100 wt. % of a diphenol compound or a mixture of at least two diphenol compounds, and less than 0.1 wt. % of water; forcing said molten composition through at least one droplet generator means to form droplets; and cooling said droplets to form solid diphenol prills. The diphenol prills obtainable by said process are also one subject-matter of the invention.

摘要: The present disclosure provides a process. The process includes (i) melt blending, in an extruder, (a) a polyolefin phase and (b) an aqueous phase in the presence of (c) at least one dispersant selected from an acrylic dispersant, a poloxamer dispersant, and combinations thereof; (ii) producing an interfacial tension from 0.1 dynes/cm to 25 dynes/cm; (iii) forming a polyolefin aqueous dispersion having from 25 wt % to 90 wt % solids content of dispersion; and (iv) removing the water from the polyolefin aqueous dispersion to form a powder. The powder has a mean volume average particle size from 10 μm to 300 μm, a sphericity from 0.92 to 1.0, a particle size distribution from 1 to less than 2, and a particle density from 98% to 100%.

摘要: Methods of simultaneously forming feed particles of different densities involves extruding a heated feed through an extruder having an extruder die defining a plurality of die openings. A first plurality of the die openings comprises a land length that is at least two times as long compared to a diameter of a respective die opening. A second plurality of the die openings comprises a land length that is equal to or less than a diameter of a respective die opening. Extrusion through the first plurality of the die forms extruded ribbons with a first density, while extrusion through the second plurality of the die openings forms extruded ribbons with a second density that is lower than the first density. The method proceeds by cutting the first and second plurality of extruded ribbons to simultaneously form feed particles of the first and second densities.
