摘要: An apparatus for manufacturing pipes using thermoplastic pipe and “tape” (continuous fiber, fully wetted in a similar thermoplastic as the pipe) that embeds its fibers into pipe surface. The thermoplastic pipe is mechanically compressed prior fiber tape being applied. Outer diameter reduction of the pipe is at least partly maintained by the fiber tape being tightly wrapped around the pipe immediately after compression causes the pipe to contract. Then, an external heat source is applied to the pipe causing the thermoplastic to melt and the pipe to undergo thermal expansion. Fibers stretch less and are embedded into the molten layer of the pipe, creating a permanent bond between the fibers and the pipe. Individual pipes may be joined using couplers or butt welds.

摘要: A method of attaching a plurality of cables such as trace heating cables to an elongate pipeline comprises bringing together the pipeline and an elongate mat along a common longitudinal direction, wrapping the mat around at least a majority of the circumference of the pipeline, and fixing the wrapped mat to the pipeline. The mat comprises at least two longitudinally-extending cables that are supported by a pliant substrate so that when the mat is wrapped around the pipeline, the cables are positioned at respective angular positions about a longitudinal axis of the pipeline. The mat may be guided from a planar configuration on exiting a reel into a configuration that is curved about the longitudinal axis. Centraliser spacers and thermal insulation may be added around the pipeline and the wrapped mat before the assembly is inserted into an outer pipe.

摘要: A preparation method of a polytetrafluoroethylene (PTFE)-based membrane for preventing and removing ices covering wind turbine blades is provided and the method comprises: preparing a membrane into a PTFE rod material with polymerized monomers by using monomer polymerization methods such as blending, pre-compressing and pushing; making the membrane into a PTFE-based homogeneous membrane with micropores and nano and micron scale concave-convex geometrical ultra-structure morphologies under the condition that the membrane is cracked to generate a laminar exfoliated fabric-like structure in the hot calendaring process of the PTFE rod material by using a hot calendaring and fusion polymerization method; and applying the PTFE-based homogeneous membrane to blades of a large wind turbine in operation.

摘要: A sealing assembly for sealing a bundle of wires includes a first sheet formed of a sealant material, a second sheet disposed above the first sheet, and a third sheet disposed above the second sheet formed of the sealant material. The second sheet includes a thermally conductive material. When the bundle of wires is overlaid on the assembly in a first direction, and the assembly is wrapped in a second direction that is generally perpendicular to the first to thereby surround the wires, the second sheet facilitates enhanced thermal energy distribution of applied heat throughout the assembly to thereby more uniformly melt the sealant material and thereby fill voids between the wires.
