摘要: A polymer brush includes a substrate material, a polymerization initiator layer containing a hydrolysis and condensation polymerization polymer comprising a first organosilane and a metal alkoxide on a surface of said substrate material, and polymer chains extending from a surface of the polymerization initiator layer. The first organosilane is a polymerization initiator group-containing organosilane having the following formula (I): X—R1-Ph-(R2)m—Si—R3nR43-n . . . (I) where X stands for a halogen atom, R1 stands for an alkylene group having 1 to 3 carbon atoms, Ph stands for a phenylene group, R2 stands for a C1 to C10 alkylene group optionally via an oxygen atom, R3 stands for an alkoxy group having 1 to 3 carbon atoms or chloro group, R4 stands for an alkyl group having 1 to 6 carbon atoms, m is 0 or 1, n is 1, 2 or 3.

摘要: A laminate can include one or more thermally-insulative layers, each having a thermal conductivity that is less than or equal to 0.05 W/m·K, wherein the laminate has a thickness that is less than or equal to 500 μm and a thermal diffusivity that is less than or equal to 0.10 mm2/s. The laminate can include an adhesive layer, wherein aback surface of the laminate is at least partially defined by the adhesive layer or a liner layer that is removably disposed on the adhesive layer. The laminate can include a protective layer that defines at least a portion of a front surface of the laminate, wherein the protective layer has a thermal conductivity that is at least 3.5 times the thermal conductivity of each of the thermally-insulative layer(s).

摘要: Multilayer tubes including an inner layer and a tie layer are described. The inner layer includes a fluorinated polymer, and has an inner surface defining an inner diameter of the multilayer tube and an outer surface separated from the inner surface by a thickness of the inner layer. The tie layer includes a functionalized styrene block copolymer and is disposed on the outer surface of the inner layer. When the multilayer tube further includes an outer layer, the multilayer tubes exhibit improved peel strength as compared to multilayer tubes including the inner layer and outer layer alone. Methods of manufacturing the multilayer tubes and articles comprising the multilayer tubes are also described.

摘要: An amide acid oligomer (AAO) solution, methods of making the same, powder, AAO solution prepregs, AAO dry prepreg, imide prepregs, and fiber reinforced polyimide composites with high temperature resistance and excellent mechanical properties are disclosed herein. In some embodiments, a method of making an AAO solution includes dissolving an aromatic diamine and an aromatic tetracarboxylic compound in a solvent to form a mixture, wherein the solvent has a boiling point of less than 150° C.; stirring the mixture at a temperature ranging from about 5° C. to about 60° C. for about I hour to about 24 hours to form a reaction solution; adding unsaturated acid anhydride to the reaction solution; and stirring the reaction solution at a temperature ranging from about 5° C. to about 60° C. for about 1 minute to about 180 minutes to form an amide acid oligomer solution, the amide acid oligomer solution having amide acid oligomer in the solvent.
